Guccifer 2.0 was apparently a GRU operative.

The Daily Beast may not have the hottest track record ever, and I didn't plan on making a thread on this at first, but then I saw this floating around twitter a few minutes ago

and I gotta imagine that the two things are *probably* related.

Anyway

https://www.thedailybeast.com/exclusive-lone-dnc-hacker-guccifer-20-slipped-up-and-revealed-he-was-a-russian-intelligence-officer

Apparently the Guccifer 2.0 account, which claims to have hacked the DNC and Roger Stone has communicated with via DM's, briefly failed to activate its VPN and its IP address has been traced back to the GRU agency headquarters in Moscow.

This may not tie directly into Trump, but Roger Stone might get fucked.

For what its worth, The Hill is reporting on this now as well.

Granted, they use The Daily Beast as their primary source, but the Hill's track record is pretty good and they probably have some other reason to believe this is true beyond just taking TDB's word on it.

The Hill is questionable at best.

But before someone picks it up and reports it without referring to Beast or Hill, it´s not really that interesting.

While I believe it's possible this is all true, spoofing IP's is hilariously easy. If you're doing heavy duty attacks, you don't just use a vpn.

Maybe I should find you a Breitbart link?
