Switch out father for father-in-law and son for son-in-law and this is basically my story.

Hell, four years ago I asked my FTL, a big Trump supporter, what he wanted from the Trump administration and the first thing he said was that he wanted me and my wife to always be able to get a job and that he didn't really care about anything else.

Now the unemployment rate is just around 8%, double when Trump first took office, I've been unable to get a job, he makes less money than four years ago, and there's a Trump sign in his yard. You can't even bring up voting without him ranting about socialism and how great his work ethic is.

they NEED to try to frame the debate incorrectly as freedom vs. socialism. otherwise they're going to face the harsh reality of having made a terrible voting choice. some folks just aren't prepared for that mentally.

I always say if you are Republican or Democrat you hate the USA because you don’t vote what’s good for the country you only vote to stay loyal to the party

@Serraph105: Gee, it sounds like maybe there’s a pandemic out there causing many people to lose their jobs. Sucks I know, but on average unemployment hovered around 3% before the virus from China took many livelihoods away.

And yet the president has nothing to mitigate the effects of the pandemic. And his base makes excuses for that........so don't bother responding..........we can all guess what you'll say. And I guess that's easy for you up in Canada and not living it.

@LJS9502_basic: Might want to do some research before discussing matters you have no clue about. The province I reside has over 1k new cases while my home state has less than 500. Currently the Liberal government is being challenged by the Progressive Conservatives in a vote of no confidence (meaning a snap election could be called any day now) due to their mishandling of the virus. But, like the US, provinces are responsible for their citizens healthcare and enforcing guidelines - not the feds.

@Serraph105: Even you wouldn't be someone I'd find humor with over being unemployed but your original comments make it clear where you place the blame. I do recall a topic from some time ago where you mentioned being unemployed and I even wished you luck in your search.

That doesn't matter. We're talking about the US and you don't reside there as stated. So my point stands.

@LJS9502_basic: As a voter, land owner, and taxpayer - I have just as many rights as you do and have every right to voice my opinions on an election.

I know your side likes to censor or silence anyone who disagrees with you - but that ain’t happening with me. Stop being the factious.

The only one that wants to push their agenda more is the left right now. The only people that want to silence people more or it's my way or the highway is the left right now. I know more people in the left that have lost friends just because someone supports Trump. Seriously?!? The people causing more division in this country is the left. I really wished we had better candidates to vote for and it is sad this is where we are as a country. I have never seen a party put more labels on people EVER and that is what they use to create this division.

the left are super corrupt and shady. Just look at Joe Biden. Entered politics as middle class, left as a multi millionaire, worth 9 to 10 million. He definitely didn't make all that from his base salary.

Its no wonder people are sick of their BS and would rather vote trump, someone who is straight up and pisses off most politicians.

Yup, they want to whine, period. Either Trumps not doing enough, or he'd be accused of killing jobs if he did what the left CLAIMS they want him to do. Just like on the border they'll piss and moan that he's separating families, but if he didn't, they'd just bleat that he was endangering the children. Best to ignore such people as their arguments are never valid ones.

Correct. Trump screwed up the response according to studies, medical journals, and countless experts. I'm going to go with science on this one, rather than Hannity or whatever.

Please stop using the word racist incorrectly. The word is losing meaning because you sling it around like this. I am not saying Eaton is right, but damnit man just because someone blames another country for something doesn't make them racist. JESUS!

What other argument can they make? When they fail to have a valid one, they just call it -ist and expect the argument to end. It's a hallmark of being on the failed side of a discussion.

@eoten: Your only argument is that others are not valid, while either not making one of your own or trying to disprove theirs. When you do that, it means you lost. You can’t attack the person and expect the argument to be over. You think I am wrong, prove it if you can. You can’t.

@Xabiss: I rarely use the word. But if you read my whole comment, it is valid. Blaming one country while being unwilling to do the same to others, does come across as racist.

Also I said it because eoten has made some suspect comments before.

I get it but I see that word thrown around so much that I don't want it to lose its meaning. Racist are some of the worst people on the planet. Really there is nothing worse than someone that dislikes someone just because of the color of their skin. I just want to label to have real meaning when it is used to describe a person that is truly RACIST!

@Xabiss: I don’t throw it around though. In the near 2k posts I may have used 2 or 3 times. I don’t like people calling everything racist, weakens the word and makes people think all claims of racism are BS. Like the whole Washington Redskins thing or people crying over red stripe commercials.

Eh the term redskins is not an appropriate term and is a pejorative. Not sure why you are defending that. The term initially was one used by racists back in the day.

If there is Stockholm syndrome it is on the left. If you don't get your way you throw a tantrum, just look at Chuck Schumer. You lose an election and you riot in the streets. Trump supporters are sick and tired of the establishment politics in Washington DC both Republican and Democrat, That is why there are never Trumper's they are Republican's that are part of the establishment just like many of the Democrats, that was why the old time Democrats were replaced by the squad members. The big difference is one group wants socialisms and one group wants capitalisms you decide which group you want to belong.
