Related to that last page stuff, I kinda hate how edgy comedy is now synonymous with "the right".
"The left" made plenty of edgy-comedy. Monty Python? Left. Stephen Fry? Left. The League Of Gentlemen? Dudes from the left.
A plot-line in The League Of Gentlemen was a German pedophile who eventually buries a schoolboy alive.
Some of the sketches are straight up mocking their audience.
It's the fanatical left, the types of freaks people at Polygon and Resetera who have distorted how people perceive the left. As humorless, joyless authoritative nutcases actively looking to be offended.

In the case of the UK a lot of it has devolved into lame panel shows where it's just comedians using it as a platform to promote themselves. The same shit copy pasted over and over because it's cheap. It's been that way for a long while now. Stuff like the 90's and early 2000's comedy are long gone.
About the only decent stuff in recent years Peep Show (again, two left leaning comedians)
