3 in 10 Republicans believe Trump will be reinstated as president: poll

Approximately 3 in 10 Republicans say in a new poll they believe former President Trump will be reinstated this year.

The Politico-Morning Consult Poll published on Wednesday found the vast majority of Americans dismiss the idea that Trump will be reinstated as president, including 61 percent of Republicans. Twenty-nine percent of GOP respondents, however, said they believe Trump will be made president again.

More than 8 in 10 Democrats — 84 percent — and 70 percent of independents also dismiss the notion that Trump will be made president after it is proven President Biden cheated in the election.

New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman reported last week Trump has been pressuring conservative media to legitimize his conspiracy theories about the 2020 presidential election being "rigged" against him.

The former president has also been telling people in his orbit he expects to be reinstated by August of this year.

“And none of that is possible. But this is the kind of thing that he is trying to flush into the conservative media ecosystem,” Haberman said during an appearance on CNN. “And I expect it to get more intense the more he is under investigation by the Manhattan district attorney and the state attorney general in New York and the threat of indictment over the coming months.”

I'm glad to hear this number is somewhat low. While still not ideal, it's something.

Most of the GOP leadership are Trumpers, though, at least superficially. If GOP wins next presidential election it might as well be Trump winning tbh.

One can hope they only toed the line during Trump's reign to stay in power and don't actually believe in his values and policies.

We've got three years to hope for a sane GOP candidate though, let's hope the nutcases fade away and we get some good candidates emerging.

So 16% Democrats and 30% independents also believe he'll be reinstated? That's a bigger surprise than 29% Republicans. Headline should focus more on that.

Not exactly, I think some are undecided. As it is only 29% for Reps while only 61% thinks he will not.

Aah, another one of these "I scoured the internet until I found another poll that said something I want" threads.

I don't want this. I want 0%. I was glad it was low.....why spin this. Also, this was literally on the front page of at the time of an unbiased highly factual site I regularly visit. Please do not post fictional takes regarding my posts, it makes you come off as flamebaiting and childishly confrontational. That being said.....Refute it. Don't shit post. Find a poll showing wildly different figures on the same topic, or specifically show methodology figures were inaccurate and directly cite a study on how so.

But the way. You made similar claims in other polling threads in which you were promptly forced to exit and pretend notifications were disabled when 10 other polls, most of which are high rated pollsters, came up with similar trends/figures. Here is the link,

3/10 is not low. That's quite a lot of people even though they are not the majority. He has a loyal base. It doesn't take over 50% of the population to take over a country.

I think we can take a guess who they are here but they would deny it. It's funny and sad how stupid this country is it's so embarrassing having these loser Trump supporters holding on to every word he says. I hate to call Trump a celebrity but it reminds of celebrity worship that goes way to far well it's a cult pretty much.

You know it's getting bad for the Trump cult when Joe Rogan is now calling a spade a spade. People can't keep dismissing every poll on the subject each time it's presented, as we all know it's done in this forum. We have a sizable portion of our electorate that is dangerously delusional and angry.

It's a problem that needs to be addressed, which starts with acknowledging that it is exists.
