Yes you can!!! Search kelkoo for "ps2 controller adaptor for ps3" or you can by one from here:http://www.logic3.com/details/?prod=361 You can also by PS2 controller converters that you can use for for both PS3 and PC...There are lots of adapters/converters out there. Just Google for it... 8)
Yeah I'm pretty sure you can, I remember seeing adapters for them.I have a question though, will the rumble still work if you use a PS2 controller with the PS3?

Yes you can, if you buy the logic 3 Playstation 3 wireless pad, the usb reciever used to pick up the signal has got a ps2 pad slot.We had to use it once when a guy brought in a ps3 which had a dead pad, and no charging cable.
