The Uncharted Mega-Thread

Well, obviously this is arguably the last big release for the year so when the review hits (hopefully today) instead of having this board explode, you can post in this thread or take it to the Uncharted forum.

First!

Anyway, game is awesome, I give it a 9.5 since I don't dock points for adventure games lacking MP.

Now, can someone detail all of the unlockables and how I get them? I'm on my second playthrough and want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to unlock all the goodies.

if it's anything like the demo it'll be a best seller in no time.

Its pretty much been confirmed as a must have title, its just going to be very interesting to see what GS gives it.

do any mods have any idea on whats going on with it? ie: what time its going up or whether its a good or bad review? I remember one of the SW mods was pre-warned about the R&C review.

Well if other sites are giving it a great review "8+" what makes you all think that GS will give it "9+"? We all know that only hyped Xbot games get the legendary score of "9+". AC would have gott less than "9+" but it was multiplatform.

Anyways I will still get this games. The fact is "Its the best looking Console game" so GOW is out off the topic. But for the fact that UC is on PS3 its gona get slated. What a shame.

I hope this game becomes one of the best seller. I really hope I have beening praying.

Really? I'm at the memory block 3 and so far it's been enjoyable.

Maybe I'm just into historic and crusaders era to much :)

If the reviewer doesn't come close to the majority of players, then there must be something wrong with the reviewer.pstripl3

So anyone that runs against the grain in any facet of life means they have something wrong with them? That is terrible thinking. That's like saying "everyone does it so I will too". If the game scores differently it just means that they didn't share the same opinion, nothing more, nothing less.

Uncharted is a much better game than AC. AC is longer, but that's the only edge I can give it.

I bet you are right though, it will get an 8.5. No AAA for us PS3 owners this year.

I think what he means, is that reviewers are supposed to be able to rate things objectively, without letting their personal bias' get in the way. This is why "The Godfather" is considered one of the best movies of all time, and consistently ranks in the top 5 or top 3 from American Film Institute, IMDB, etc. This is why "Dark Side of the Moon" are widely considered to be one of the greatest albums of all time. This is why we hire professional reviewers. If they all had a wildly different take on everything, they would serve no purpose.

If some critic out there called Gigli "the best movie in the history of film", would you say he is entitled to his opinion, or would you think he was out of his mind?

Edit: For an example of what I mean, I love Dazed and Confused, and it is one of my favorite movies of all time. That said, I wouldn't rate it higher than an 7.5/10, because I know from a critical standpoint that 7.5 is all it deserves. I just think nowadays, game reviewers are basically saying "oooh I loved this game, 9.5!" or "ooooh I disliked this game, 7.5!" There doesn't seem to be a lot of objectivity involved. Can't you step back and say well, RPGs might not be my forte, but this game had an awesome story, great fighting system, incredible music etc, so it deserves a high score? I would rather be playing Cold Winter, but this game is clearly superior?

I see what the other guy was saying, it was just a bad choice of wording.

Well depends on what part of European you are. In UK/Ireland its coming out on the 7th.

To GS member that will review Uncharted,

If you give it "9+" people will love you and any other sites S%%ks but if you give it less everyone will hate you. So I guess you are stuck. But please do not give it any undeserved score. I hate XBot but I believe in fair play.

I will still buy the game anyways. But I live in EU so by the time its out some idiot would have post the ending on Youboot ake Youtube.

I won't be getting uncharted due to it's length, but still am interested in GS' review.. Just wanna see if they dropped the ball once with that R&C "incident" or if it's a continuing problem on this website.

Well unfortunately I haven't had the opportunity to play either GOW1 or 2, so I guess GOW3 doesn't really come into question anyways :P

I don't buy short games, mainly because i don't have money to buy alot of games so I have to make sure i get bang for my buck... 8 hours on Uncharted, while it may be fun, is just too short to justify $70... And it doesn't have multiplayer either, unlike Halo3 and COD4 which last long like that even with very short solo campaigns.

omg this game is awesome.best graphic in consoles thus far

i am comparing gears of war and this side by side in my split screen tv on a sharp 52 inch 1080p

and believe me they both look awesomely same graphic wise but uncharted has slightly better textures and more colors

but yea this game is freaking awesome. everything is so perfect i would give it a 9.5 and f it had on-lien play like gears perfect 10 to me without a doubt
