I hope you are not mistaken with the Secure Digital (SD) cards used by many cameras, PDAs and the Wii.
These are a different standard for flash memory cards as shown here, the common ones you see are the large ones, the minis and micros are commonly used in cell phones:

The Sony PSP uses Sony's own memory standard known as Memory StickDuo (regular sized MS are rare now and cannot be used with the PSP). They look like the following:

Yeah, so just consider the differences and if you intendon using cards with a Sony camera or the PSP buy MemoryStick Pro Duos (I recommend Sandisk, Lexar or Sony last).

If thats the thing that will let you use any type of SD card, thats what I was gonna say. There is an adapter out there that hooks onto the psp mem stick port and will let you use any of those. I think its like $20 or something.
