They don't need some specialized SD card? They can use the same ones, for example, that Camera's use? I'm asking because I can get a SD card from a local computer store (8 gig) for like 30 bucks or I can go to bestbuy and pay over a hundred for a 4 gig one.

Hi

I hope you are not mistaken with the Secure Digital (SD) cards used by many cameras, PDAs and the Wii.

These are a different standard for flash memory cards as shown here, the common ones you see are the large ones, the minis and micros are commonly used in cell phones:

The Sony PSP uses Sony's own memory standard known as Memory StickDuo (regular sized MS are rare now and cannot be used with the PSP). They look like the following:

Yeah, so just consider the differences and if you intendon using cards with a Sony camera or the PSP buy MemoryStick Pro Duos (I recommend Sandisk, Lexar or Sony last).

Memory stick duo. Though you could use a MS micro with the MS duo adapter.

If thats the thing that will let you use any type of SD card, thats what I was gonna say. There is an adapter out there that hooks onto the psp mem stick port and will let you use any of those. I think its like $20 or something.

Alright thanks, I wasn't aware there was a difference between SD cards and MemoryStick Duo's. They look more or less the same. I think I'll go with a Sony one... Just because I can't find any Sandisk or Lexar 8 Gigs. Mays well start with the best?
