I have a PS4 that I got in 2015 and recently its been displaying a white light and the controller shuts down or the system freezes up. I tried cleaning the system with a dust spray but it still does this from time to time. I know it's only a matter of time before the system dies out and I will have to get a PS5 which I want this year hopefully for Christmas.

@pillarrocks: try to give it a deep clean.

Since you own the PS4 for 8 years now I think you should try to deep clean it and change thermal paste.

I faced this on PS5 recently and apparently its due to how connections work with TV there is error in communication between it and the TV. I dont think its the same problem as yours but its also the same white light.

I might try the thermal paste to see though never really done anything aside from opening they system and dusting off the fans with a can of dust removal. I also get internet connection errors as well and the system beeping when shutting it off and it restarts again.
