Bought my PS3 like 13 months ago, and have got 12 games so far.... sometimes I buy like 3 games a month, but sometimes as in case of Assassins Creed 2 and Batman: Arkham asylum, one game for like 2 months, I played B:AA and AC2 from September to December, and got platinum on both.
In average I buy 1 PS3 game a month, but the last PC game I bought was Dragon Age: Origins and it lasted me from November to... well I still play it, Darkspawn Chronicles are great.

they calculate these numbers by taking the total number of new games sold divided by the total number of new consoles sold. So if you've bought any used games, those don't really count. That's probably why it seems low.
I'm sitting on 12 games right now, but I've only had my PS3 a few months. That number will steadily increase, hell, I have close to 110 games for my PS2.
When I worked retail attach rate meant extra items you attached to a product. So I read this as "Most people buy 8 or more games at the same time they purchased their PS3."cametall

Let's see - I bought my PS3 on Monday, it came with 2 games, and I bought 6 more. So day 1 for me and I'm already on the average attach rate :P I have since been looking on ebay and got myself a few more on the way, so should be slipping into the Well Above (14+) category by about the end of next week :D
Perhaps the most worrying thing about these average attach figures is that to balance out people with lots of games there must be a lot more people who buy next to nothing for their consoles. If you buy a console you owe it to yourself to get a decent number of games to get the most out of it.
I've got 13 games if I also include my downloded Burnout Paradise, although I'm not sure how PSN games are factoring into this 8.1 number. Does my pack in of PAIN count too? If so, I have closer to 30 games. [QUOTE="Nexustras"]

We also constitute a minority as more hardcore gamers - most PS3 owners probably don't even post on videogame forums.

Well, I own 10 at the moment, and I sold AC a while back. So does that make 11? I rent quite a few games though. Mainly, because, at 15, I cannot afford a hell of a lot of games. Although I recently got a job, so that will be changing eventually.
