Sony probably wont allow this due to the fact that people are buying pc games instead of ps3 games

its illegal to use a program to play pc games on the ps3 if sony doesnt want them to... sony controls everything that can go on their console. and dont say well i bought the system so its mine crap.
You guys wont get the best of gears due to the fact that all of it on the pc version isnt all being made by epic.End Of.
The thing is that to play these games on the ps3 you already need a computer able to handle those games. so you could just play on your computer, why bother streaming it at all. I could understand the benefit of maybe playing a game further away from your computer, but beyond that not so much. I dont think this will be that big a deal, that they would try to stop it.neovalkyr
if this is true, and it works, then so long 360indian_playaIf it does I will(probably not)buy the PC Halo 3 call my friends(their all halo and 360 fans)and ask if they wanna come over to play Halo 3.
I read into this, and your PS3 is more of a media hub. You have to have the game on your PC and it streams onto your PS3. your PC is whats powering the game, and your PS3 is more of a reciver and controller. So you get no horse power from the PS3, so unless your PC can run it you wont be able to run it.
this looks and sounds cool, but you have to have Linux installed on your PS3, set up network. then after all that stream a game from your PC onto your PS3=lag even tho they claim none at all. And atfer all that play some PC game with a PS3 controller. I will stick with Official PS3 games.

Well you can setup a KB/M on the Ps3 so that doesn't hold you down from playing RTS games and other games where KB/M is more favorable. But I see what you mean, your PS3 is really just the receiver, but still it's cool because either way your playing it on your PS3 in a way.

you're an idiot, take advantage of this dude
Yeah man go tell all the 360 fanboys that your playing Halo 3 on your PS3.:DTrue seeing is believeing.
But hey it would be nice. I don't really care if it does happen or not though.:P
Really neat idea but I think it would be a niche market at best. If you have to have the game for PC and are just streaming it to your PS3, why not just hook your comp to a decent TV or just play on the computer?
Is there a clear benefit to doing this beyond the novelty of streaming content?

Okay this is my only question. Does your PC have to be optimized to run the game since it's being streamed or can that be handled by your PS3?G-Legend
Like it was mentioned clearly before. Your PS3 is only the receiver. No horsepower of the PS3 is used at all. The whole game is run on the PC. Graphics on the PC will be identical to the one you see on your PS3.
IMO, the graphics will be definitely toned done. Some form of compression/decompression must be used to make lagless streaming possible. And at HD I think there will be loss in quality, audio as well.
why would u want to, just play it on your pc lol why stream it i can see streaming from pc to ps3 being kind of cool for other things like if your building your own game for the ps3 but playing pc games on your ps3, its like putting a middle man in all of it for no reason. just hook up your ps3 controller to your pc if you want to use it to play pc games.
streaming your pc to ps3 is cool but playing pc games on it seems pretty useless in my opinion.
