Anyways, its their review they can do what they want, and I think it would be best if everyone who is going to comment about how great it is to actually wait until the game is actually out and you can you know... play it... as opposed to going on the forums and showing how big its e-peen is.
yea, but ign uk gave it a 9.9. this is a game that is more for the hardcore fan of the series, because the biggest thing in this game is the story. i mean half the game is cutscenes, it's almost like an epic movie. if you've played the other mgs games and liked them and care about the story remotely, you'll love this game. this is the system seller that sony knew it would be.
At the end it comes down to what you, the gamer and buyer, thinks about the game. I have stopped completely reading reviews as I find they are very very rigged these days.
The guy that reviewed it is not a massive MGS fan to begin with. He's played them all presumably, but in his opinion, they all suffer from the same things. One interested thing he says in the review is something like there are some factors in the games that the fans love it for, but others hate it for the same reasons. For example, the overly long cut scenes. Some people find them tedious and they want to play a game, not watch a movie. Others like the cut scenes and feel that the movie experience meshes with the game nicely.
The fact of the matter is, you either like MGS or you don't, and since I'm a big MGS fan, I'll be immensly looking forward to this and I know it's made for me. That's how all fans of the series should look at it.
80 percent is a B, maybe even a B-. Witch isn't really a good choice for MGS4.
Although Playstation Magazine gave 5 out of 5 and Editors Choice so don't worry. Plus GTAIV is overrated. The guy who did it for Playstation Magazine had only played MGS2, beforehand.
Euro Gamer and Edge are the only two that gave MGS4 a 8/10. And both those sites are wrong IMO.Delsage
I know you guys love this game, but how can you people say a review is wrong. There are multiple reasons why saying a review is wrong is just dumb. 1) The game isn't out. 2) Its a critics opinion, not your own. 3) An opinion cannot be wrong, no matter how much you hate that.
lol i cant believe people are arguing about the 80% being an A, B, or a C. Where I live, its a A-. 50-54 is D-/ 55 is D/56-59 is D+. 60-64 is C-/ 65 is a C/ 66-69 is a C+. 70-74 is a B-/75 is a B/ 76-79 is a B+. 80- 99 is A-/+. well u can see what i mean and that how its goes around up here where i live(Canada). Back on topic, the people who reviwed the game were not MGS fans and they STILL gave it a great score even though they didnt like it. Imagine how much US fans will love this game. And a 9.9 is amazing from IGN UK.

Because the reviewer must be downright picky to give an MGS game anything lower than a 9.5. This is the same guy that gave GTA IV a 10/10 when imho, didnt deserve a 10, but a 9.5 - no more, no less.

If you guys have read the review...it's completely bias. The 'hate and love' concept really isn't digging it. If the game is good, has great gameplay, phenomenal storyline and what not, gorgeous sounds/graphics, then it's considered a good game...but the review illustrates a big sense of 'it's not my kind of style game, that's why i give it an 8/10'. I can't wait for more reviews to come around...
