I have a near launch 60GB Ps3 working perfectly, the only thing I miss is the old PLAYSTATION3 start up with the Spiderman font for my games, im not a fan of the new Ps3 slim logo.
I bought a total of 8 60gigs at PS3 launch in 2006.
6 of those 8 were for family/friends, and I got was paid back.
I kept 2 60gig PS3's for my HDTV's in my home. I needed a Blu-Ray player in the bedroom.
All 8 of those still work great, and my two 60gigs are just fine. In fact, I upgraded one to 500gigs a long time ago.
I also have a lot (I mean a lot, where I work, it's gaming heaven) of friends/co-workers that own 60gigs. Again, no issues, ever.
I got mine on December 27th 2006. They were sold out of Resistance and so I had to get Call of Duty 3.
My Day 1 60GB died two weekends ago. I think the GPU went out as it started loading games in 480P then finally nothing. Replaced it with a Slim.emitsu97Sorry to hear that emitsu. My launch 60 gb (which I dropped a 250 gb hdd into) is still kickin'
I've had mine since December of 06. Still kicking *knock on wood*. Although x bots may scoff at paying 600 dollars for the old one, it was easily the best investment for what Ive gotten out of it that Ive ever made...aside from my sweet tv to complement the purchase of course.
mine is dead. just odered a 250 gig slim this morning:D
my friend bought his about 6 months before i bought my 60 gig*got mine summer 07 day after E3*and his is still alive.
my cousin bought one from a pawn shop last year and its still working.
My 60 gig died 2 nights ago.... I promise you it will be working good as new in no time. I do NOT give up on anything. If I am still on my first Super Nintendo then I am sure as hell going to get my 60 gig PS3 working again.
For me the date i shall always remember is march 25th 2007 as i live in britain i had to wait tht Little bit longer but she's still alive and kicking and to all those that have loved and lost we feel for you RIP any and all ps3's :(
From my understanding the PS3's are dying in mass numbers across the board due to the increase in more people having them and playing them for longer periods of time. Games are finally starting to show up on the PS3 and people are putting time into them. So it's a myth to think that the PS3's are more reliable because that's just not the case.post if you have a 60 or have had and what led to its demise or what gig you have w.e im not fussed Post away peoples.
