OMG, just bought a 52" Aquos and hooked it up to the PS3. Having never seen the PS3 in HD I was excited. Man! what a difference. I just tried FIFA so far and dude!, you see everything in detail! So crisp, so incredible and makes the game much easier to play (as you see more of the pitch). I knew HD was much better than SD, but I did not expect this much of a difference.... Amazed and content.... now gotta find some DivX HD to download cuz standard cable looks like crap now! :)Macri
Yea. I got a 60 inch sony bravia a couple of days after christmas and that was a huge step from sd. HD is really good especially watching a blu ray.

60 inch..WOW, that's just....massive!
And I thought my 42" 1080P was nice :?
I thought Planet Earth looked amazing in SD, then I got the Blu-Ray boxset :O
The slow-mo shot of the shark is the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed on a TV.
If you slate it, you don't deserve a life. Planet Earth is the most beautiful programme I have ever seen.

this will be you :o

What is so entertaining about seeing a baby sea turtle crawling on the sand into the sea for the first time? I am sure it looks good but there is just nothing entertaining about that.
it is called Intellectual Entertainment
sorry it doesnt appeal to you :D

Argh?
I was watching UNC-Clemson in HD yesterday. Hansborough got someone's finger in his eye or something and lost a contact. The zoom was so that you saw his full body when trying to put the contact back in - if you looked at his finger what was very visible in HD - the new contact.....
Seriously I can hardly see them when I try to put them in my own eye but here I was watching the dude's contact sitting 7-8ft away from the tv. That was kind of cool and I have had HD for 5 years but you will still notice those things.

dont forget to go into the display setting and turn ON the super white and change the color range from limited to full. you'll see another jump in picture quality
Up until a few days ago I had never actually sat and LOOKED at an HDTV. I was in Sam's Club(of all places, right?) and just couldn't take my eyes off that sweet 1080i picture in a 60" they had displayed. Makes my22"Phillips Magnavoxlook like a piece of malformed plastic that happens to display a movingpicture...

I can't imagine the eye strain, lmao

It's actually not bad if you're sitting the proper distance away from the TV.
That is what, 20-30 feet away? lol
The only thing i hate is that normal SD tv channels looks WAY BAD on HD, i wish every channel were HD.magicquebec
It depends on what kind of TV you have... SD tv channels actually look pretty good on my Samsung DLP. I know what you mean though because it looks like crap on my parent's TV.

One thing is the tv as noted above - the second is the digital box. Most companies putting out digital HD boxes do not do well with the analog signal. So what you can do is introduce a splitter (not enough db loss to matter) prior to the cable box. Run one cable to the cable box as you already do and run the other cable straight to the tv. Now you just change the input when watching sd channels and you get them straight from the wall and you let your tv deal with it instead of the cable box - MUCH better picture for most people. I don't use the other input when channelsurfing etc, but if I am watching SD for an hour or more I go to my alternate input
I mean it is beyond sooooo different. I love it!!!! HD TV and everything kicks ass. I mean even 720 to 1080 is better. I mean COD4 on 1080 on my 47" LOOKS EVEN BETTER THEN 720"! So yeah yeah HDMI and 1080=perfect.
Also 72"? WTF? DAMN! 47" hurts my eyes sometimes. Where you play from...the next room?
Man, i always thought people with expensive hdtv's were in some kind of denial. Claiming that it's way better than sd just because they paid al lot of dough for it.
But ever since i got my samsung syncmaster pc monitor, i can't imagine playin games without it. I played through RFOM a second time because it looked so much better.
My brother plays on a sd, and wasn't that impressed about the burnout paradise demo . But after seeing it in hd, he is stoked about the game.
mmm this kinda sounds like a commercial:P,
But it is true
