My cousin said Infamous 2 almost got him teary eyed and my brother said a few Final Fantasys got to him...I have yet to experience that so I'm wondering has a game ever made you cry? If so, what game?

Never cried over a games story or been close to it. Only games that get to me are horror games when they jump out at you. Makes me unload a clip all over the room lol.

Yeah but... I can't talk about it here, since it wasn't on the PS3. Why limit a topic like this to just one console? :?

Yup.

Gaming is a medium where you can actually grow attached to a character. Not like a movie where you see them for like an hour n a half and are supposed to be sad when something happens to them.:?

MGS4 had a very memorable epilogue, just the bit about Solid Snake, not enough to make me cry though.

I've teared up at the end of an anime, during a movie or 2, and at the series final of a few certain TV shows. But never a game.

not really, some endings have left me in awe like the endings of Bioshock 1/2 and Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. I find that most game characters, no matter how well written, aren't written nearly well enough to actually leave a connection with the player. I'm not going to blame this on the fact that they're animation rather than live action since there are animated movies that have really great character development/attachment.

I've said this many times, and I'll say it again: MGS3, and MGS4 for sure.

The only game that made cry was Final Fantasy X... Twice. First when Tidus discover (on Ryku's Desert Home) that Yuna has to die and the second one at the end.
wonderful history.

I'm pretty sure there have been a couple that have made me tear up. Most recently during a scene in Heavy Rain.

Does accidentally hitting someone with a move controller count as being teary in a game?

If yes, then sports champions.

Hahaha I totally understand this. The ending of Final Fantasy X, though did not make me cry made me feel like crap. It's honestly the perfect ending for the best game ever.

As for this generation nah, even the supposedly "tragic" endings for some games just feel cheesy to me.

Crisis Core Final Fantasy made me weep a little, The World Ends With You did too.

But when I finally finished Ocarina of Time after 10 years of not being able to finish it, I bawled my eyes out with awsome.

NIER definitely comes to mind, dear lord was I an emotional train wreck after finishing the second playthrough of that game. Its truly one of those games that tears you up from inside when you get emotionally invested in it and it doesn't stop until the very end.

more recently scenes in Heavy Rain were rather upsetting.

Plenty of games that have made me sad, but never to the point of crying because of it (though I've come pretty close a few times). Now tears of joy is a different ballgame;)

I'm replaying FFVIII and that's where I'm up to. I don't remember it being sad but then again I haven't played it for about 5 years.

Yes, in Silent Hill2"in water" ending. It had been building upfor a while, James carrying his dead wife and all.Andalmost inSilent Hill when Lisa Garland realises she is trapped and starts bleeding through her eyes and everywhere, falls to her knees andgets pushed away by Harry that moves out the room and closes the door. That was terrible.

Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme- At the end when they're having that huge party, and Mido and King Zora are all sad and sitting off to the side cause of Ruto and Saria dying. Gets me teary-eyed every time. also, the Great Deku Tree's death is pretty sad.

inFAMOUS 2 (good ending) - Yeah, I'll admit. That ending made me do the sexy cry. Wasn't blubbering but there was definitely a tear (or two).

Metal Gear Solid 3 (it'll be on the PS3 soon enough :P) - Like most people, I'll admit this too jerked a tear from me.

I never cried from a game's story but I almost did. There was only one game that has gotten me to almost cry and that was Persona 3 when you get the true ending.

There have been games that have struck a chord with me ('Infamous 2', most recently), but I can't say that one's ever made me cry. 'Heavy Rain' did make me laugh though. It was a good comedy.

No, I'm a real man, real men don't cry! :P Nah, I haven't actually cried during a game but I've most certainly had some emotional moments. And since we're limited to the PS3: MGS4, BioShock and Portal 2 are the only ones that really played with my heart strings.

I felt alot of emotion through final fantasy VII, which im playing right now (first playthrough). Im currently in the Underwater Junon Reactor. I felt like crying at the end of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. I held it like a man.... I beat it three times though and every time i almost cried.
