Do people actully turn off their PSP? or do you just leave it on sleep mode? how much battery does sleep mode drain anyways?

btw i just did some google and i found this

http://psp.ign.com/articles/574/574557p4.html

according to them, sleep mode have almost no effect on battery life.

just as with ANYTHING electric, it takes MORE battery to start the system up again.. as opposed to leaving it on sleep.

i am guessing the poll result will be more people turn it all the way off because most of them probably don't know how great the sleep mode it. i think i'll run metal gear solid tonight at 90 battery and see what i get when i wake up tomorrow

Quickly push the power button up and let go. To turn it completely off, push up and hold till it powers down.

Doesn't the disc still move around when in sleep mode? Because if it does, I feel safer carrying my PSP around when it's fully off...

i used to rarely turn off my PSP. but now i do it all the time. i heard somehwere that if you do it will make less of a Cashe file on your system. drastically lowering loading times in games, and on the internet.

i nearly always leave it in sleep, since its normally in music mode and then the remote can turn it back on. Its a pain just how much power sleep still drains, but then the battery life is so short that charging it most days is pretty much required anyway.

Sleep Mode will last a long time, I had it at sleep mode for two days, and while my battery was still dead, I was able to plug it in to a charger and continue from where I left off.

same here, untill my battery popped last year lol. I guess sleepmode is great cause you can just whip it out of your pocket and start playing within 3 seconds.

Yeah, I turn it off. Sleep mode drains battery for keeping data in RAM memory. Macs have the same sleep mode - when you press power button, computer packs everything in RAM and turns off others components (optical drive, screen...). I think that leaving PSP always in sleep mode may damage it.
