I thought CoD4 was compleatly over-rated. Get World at War. It's the same gameplay-wise and it's got trophy support! *Tumbs-Up*

I enjoyed WaW single player more and despised the online because i hated the maps.

so for me, Cod4 >> CodWaW in online while,

CodWaW > Cod4 in single player. (could be because i hardly played cod4 offline)

There really isn't that much difference between the two. I thought the missions in CoD:WaW where a bit more interesting that the ones in CoD4. Plus i thought thecharacters in CoD5 where more interesting. Sergeant Roebuck kicked ass! Made better by the fact Kiefer Sutherland voiced him!

COD4 is the better game in every aspect, but WaW is not without its charms, get both.

cod 4 man....trust me.

They both have fun MP, but as far as the campaigns are concerned, W@W wins by a mile. And there's something about WWII weapons that make them so fun to use. If you're fond of collecting trophies and stuff, W@W has that too.

u guys think waw has a better story? the ending was almost a copy of cod4's ending. yes its an engaging story but it was only because of the in between cutscenes....but the characters are no less memorable...and the japanese sniping from tree's....wtf that was annoying.

cod4 was a much better story....plus a better story with better guns and no tanks...

I have both and I find that CoD 4 is a lot better than WaW. WaW has some seriously large maps that can be good if you like to snipe, if not, they can be a pain in the ***. I recommend CoD 4 but if I was in your situation, I would wait until Modern Warfare 2 comes out. Just throwing in my two cents.

This is what I plan on doing and I would recommend you do the same. I'm going to buy World at War and wait until Modern Warfare 2.

IMO:

Campaign - Tie (both are epic, WaW's is a bit longer though)

multi - CoD4

better replayability - CoD4

Gameplay - CoD4

Visuals - WaW

Overall - CoD4

Overall I think CoD4 is the better game, but WaW isn't bad either. Nazi Zombies mode, as well being able to co-op online and off through the campaign are features that CoD4 doesn't have. If you can, get both, if not go with CoD4 ;)

ok so first mw is a little overrated and that is because of the online now there is so many cheaters god!!! but apart from all those cheaters online mw is a pretty solid game the story is fantastic and the gameplay is cool but no trophy support sucks..... so now w@w the online is almost the same as mw except the guns kinda just dont feel rite like in mw but the zombie thing is awsome and the story is just as good or even a little better u get to be a marine raider and a soldier from the red army and just play some historical moments that happen in world war 2........................ so now that i gived so a little details IMO i would say w@w is a little better some people think mw is better just cuz i got game of the year but that was like 2 years ago so yup w@w is the deffinent buy

I don't know why but i love COD WAW its amazing game whit great graphics and awesome MP i really recomand COD WAW :) i don't say COD 4 its bad but its old game so why not buy somthing fresh and whit better graphics :D

Call of Duty 4 is DEFINITELY better than COD:WaW. COD4 online is better and so is the campaign, if you like old crappy guns get COD:WaW. If you like new guns and more modern everything (Hence modern ware fare) get COD4, which in my opinion is 10 times better than COD:WaW

The single player for COD4 is shorter than WAW ,but I liked 4 better ..As far as online just depends on if you like the modern weapons better than the older..Online is equal as far as gameplay....

Cod4 is better than WaW. WaW has too many glitches online, and to me the spawn points aren't very good. And to the people that said WaW's graphics are better...seriously? imo cod4's graphics are much cleaner. the jungles in WaW look pretty blurry to me, atleast in the multiplayer. anyways, yeah cod4 all the way.

how do you feel cod4 is generic but not WaW when WaW is built on the same engine and the gameplay is very similar. atleast cod4 had a new story. waw is just another ww2 shooter.

Personally I prefer CoD WaW and if I were you I would get WaW, because mainly after you play WWII for a while then Modern Warfare 2 will be a drastic and really fresh change to your experience, which wouldn't happen if you get CoD4. CoD WaW also has a lot more features, such as, co-op campaign, Nazi Zombies, plus more game modes and more people playing. CoD WaW is also a lot more newb friendly. CoD4 is full of 10th prestigers and grenade spam is a constant problem in CoD4, it's really annoying trust me. Don't listen to the people who say WaW sucks, they're just insecure about their precious Call of Duty 4.

i would like to say modern warfare but i have yet tp play world at war. based on reviews you cant go wrong either way!

MW there is no comparison. WaW is just a glorified expansion pack that brings all new WW2 flavored skins.

I thought call of duty world at war had much better multiplayer and single player than cod 4 but they're both really great games

For what it's worth, I'm also a history buff, but preferred Modern Warfare. I did appreciate the chance to experience a quality (read: not Medal of Honor) simulation of the Pacific Front, but COD4, IMO, just had better gameplay. To its credit, WAW does have co-op, which is really fun.

Call of Duty 4. It was probably one of the defining games of the generation

I would go with CoD: W@W. Better longer campaign, co-op, nazi zombies mode, and a more fleshed out multiplayer.

Don't get me wrong I love CoD4 but I just think that W@W is the better value and better overall game.

i have both and i got sick of WaW and went back to 4.......i would take 4 over WaW any day it has alot better maps, guns, and plays much more smooth

cod4 beats the living shi* out of cod waw in every way possible... ill even list a few

cod waws sniping is laughable

cod waw has bad maps

cod waw is a world war 2 game

cod waw has boring, world war 2 guns

cod waw has completely overpowered guns (in cod 4, no1 uses one particular gun. In cod waw everyone uses the mp40 because its as powerful as a rifle and its automatic.)

World at War by far. COD4 was too short and the ending wasn't as epic as COD5's.
