Didn't halo play like crap on xbox? Also on PC to be honest, well it didn't play like crap on PC but a game with crappy story, ugly weapons and a generic main character (master chief looks like a Power Ranger though Power Rangers were way cooler) isn't what I want from a FPS. If u want to make a console FPS, make one with better story (Killzone) or just one that is fun to play (Timesplitters).

And what comes to Mario is the fact that Sunshine sucked, well it didn't suck but it did depend way too much on the new nozzle gimmick. BTW I hated that nozzle thing. Both Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter totally pwn Mario nowadays. So I wouldn't want to have Mario on PS2. And if one wants to play Mario, one should buy a Nintendo console. Same goes for halo though halo is no reason to buy a console from an evil company like microsoft.

Dude, dont be such a fanboy. Halo was an excellent FPS (9.7 on GS) It didnt have a crappy story. Its graphics are still better than alot of PS2 games today, and MC looks fine. So what if he resembles a power ranger slightly. Does that make the game any worse? All i have to say is, Halo got 9.7, Killzone got 6.9.

And yeah, Sunshine did suck. But Galaxy might be excellent. It certainly looks that way from the trailers we've seen so far.

Theres no need to bash other games that arent on thr PS2. PS2 is king of RPG's, and i want it to stay that way. Xbox was filled with shooters, which was good also, but did get a little boring.

LOL all "fanboyism" aside here, but when someone says something as ridiculous as "the PS2 is only the king of RPGs" i have to say something. the PS2 is king of all games that aren't first person shooters. that's that. and if you're still refusing to believe that, go have a looksy at the PS2's library then look at the Xbox's. in the end, it just doesn't compare. the PS2 is the better console. facts are facts, folks. graphics help a bit, sure. but they don't stand for what really makes a game. at least for real gamers, that's the case. the PS2 had a lot more japanese support than the Xbox did. that alone is enough to make the Xbox a failure next to the PS2. so please once and for all, stop saying the Xbox is better than the PS2 because it's getting to be the oldest lie ever told. it's not better than the PS2, plain and simple.

don't argue against known facts. oh and btw, Halo is overrated. the story blows. like in the case of the DMC series, people don't play it for the story but rather the gameplay. and even the gameplay in Halo feels almost identical to any other decent FPS. just a bit more improved, of course. the fact that Halo has better graphics and stupid looking weapons and dirt bike helmets and alien creatures doesn't mean anything. what it means is that Halo is overrated only because it's expected to sell like crazy. i play it because it's fun on Xbox Live. fun, like most shooters are. and like all shooters, it will get boring. oh and without Halo, the Xbox would've been a total flop. the PS2 has a lot more, better games. and by a lot, i mean A FREAKING LOT. but only because it became available for purchase first than the Xbox did, but because of all the support it was given. the Xbox has no more than 10 that are actually worth mentioning in a debate. thanks!

You started off by saying you were setting 'fanboyism' aside and using facts to make your argument. Then you went ahead and made some stamements which were foundated on your own opinions and predictions.  What you find fun, and your statements of the success of a game that hasen't been released yet are not facts. Sure you can say "well there's a lot of hype behind ____ and the prequel or _____ sold millions." That doesn't make any of your "LMAO! SONY WILL KILL 360 CAUSE IT HAS THESE GAMEZZZ" a fact. What you used were biased predictions.

"Without Halo, the xbox would be a total flop" Is this a fact? Do you have Microsoft's figures and income reports over the past 7 years? Did you crunch the numbers and determine that the software sales of Halo and Halo 2 were the only reason that Microsoft made money on this console? Or did you just quickly think of other popular titles, couldn't, and determine that the success and failure of the Xbox console in its entierty was due to Halo? This is not a fact, nor an argument. It is an opinion based off of the dislike of the console and the community.

"Halo is over rated" Well now, how could a game that is over rated be the sole reason that the Xbox was a success? That doesn't make sense. Maybe you don't like Halo, but that doesn't make it over rated. It's not my cup of tea either, I'm not defending it. I played it single player and multiplayer, it was ok. Over rated? Over rating a game would be a game mag giving it a 10.0 no questions asked. I wouldn't say its over rated if it sells millions of copies, as well as it's sequel. I would say it'a very popular game that isnt really what I like playing. Saying it is over rated is ignorant, and close minded.

You mentioned that gamers, real gamers, dont care about graphics that much and want substance. I'd agree with you there. I play more Diablo 2, Final Fantasy Tactics and Xenogears that anything that's come out withing the past 2 years. I like a challenge, I like having to think, I like something a bit less mindless than shooting something because it's moving. But you then need to realize that 'real gamers' are above the bias, above the fanboyism, and take a game for just that. A game. Regardless of its console requirement, it doesn't make it suck. And it doesnt make any certian console suck because game X Y and Z aren't on it. I own most consoles and systems, and play them all frequently. I play what I like, and I play what I enjoy. Why should one console "suck" because you like 3 games for another? Why cant it be equally good? Once you learn to do that, and you take a game for a game, and a console for a console, you can call yourself "a true gamer." Until then, please refrain from giving gamers who are a bit more openminded a bad name.

fact 3: you'll see more 9's and 10's in the ps2's library due to the FACT that they have MORE games

My very first post in this thread stated I was not bias towards any system. Any post I made has reassured that stament. How did you come to the conclusion i was a 360 fanboy? Because I defended Halo? I said I didn't like Halo. Past that, Halo is software made by Bungie, available on multiple platforms. That doesn't somehow make me a 360 fanboy.  You want my honest opinion about the best system? for those silly people that are still in denial, i've come with a solution. now, the solution might not actually solve a thing but it will nonetheless show you why exactly, i say the PS2 completely destroys the Xbox. note that stating the facts doesn't make me a fanboy of Sony. it just makes me a fanboy of whoever has more to offer in terms of games. wait but.. Sony has more to offer don't they? i guess that does make me a fanboy of Sony. LOL! after all, these consoles WERE made for games. and Sony KILLS Microsoft in that department.

the xbox is known for this exactly:

1. Xbox Live. a much better online service than the PS2.

2. a more powerful console.

3. the colors green and black.

4. Halo.

5. shooting games.

the list of games that you'll see from here on out are games that i've played for both consoles and the games that are actually worth a mention. check your sources and add any to the list if i'm missing any that deserve some credit but like i said, these are the ones that I'VE played for both Xbox and PS2.

Xbox FPS:

the Halo series, Far Cry Instincts, Star Wars Republic Commando, The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, Unreal Championship 1 and 2. and Conker. Conker might not be a FPS but it's more of a shooter than anything else. (and yup, you could easily find more than half of these for PC or Mac but i named them only because the PS2 did not get them thanks)

Xbox Racers:

Forza Motorsport, Project Gotham Racing 1, Project Gotham Racing 2, Rallisport Challenge 1, Rallisport Challenge 2.

Xbox RPGs:

Star Wars KOTOR 1, KOTOR 2, Fable, Arx Fatalis, Jade Empire and Morrowind.

Xbox Action / Adventure games:

Ninja Gaiden, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, Otogi 1, Otogi 2. oh btw, for those that don't know, Ninja Gaiden is headed for the PS3. go look at some screens for Sigma and drool. :lol:

Xbox Platformers:

Psychonauts (it's on the PS2 also but i honestly prefer the Xbox version. to me, PS2 version feels like nothing more than some lame halfassed port), Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee and Jet Set Radio Future.

Xbox Fighters:

nothing worth mentioning here other than the DOA series. everything else is garbage for me.

Xbox Combat Sims:

MechAssault 1, MechAssault 2.

ok so these are the games that i've actually played on the xbox and i did love most of them especially KOTOR, Ninja Gaiden, Halo, Fable, and MechAssault. but is that really enough to say that the xbox is better than the ps2? is that really enough to consider "the ps2 rapes the xbox" as an opinion?

PS2 Combat Sims:

Zone of the Enders, Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner, Ace Combat 4, Ace Combat 5, Ace Combat Zero, Armored Core 2: Another Age, Armored Core 3, Armored Core: Nexus. what wins it here? the PS2.

PS2 Rhythm / Music:

Frequency, Rez, Amplitude, Guitar Hero, Gitaroo Man. what wins it here? the PS2.

PS2 Puzzle-type games:

Katamari Damacy, We Love Katamari. what wins it here? the PS2.

PS2 Shooters:

Rez, R-Type Final, Ratchet: Deadlocked, Gradius V, Gungrave: Overdose, Contra: Shattered Soldier.

PS2 FPS:

Killzone. (sadly, this is the only PS2 exclusive FPS that i remember playing. and gamespot, from what i've noticed, are the only ones that rated this game with such a low score. i think it had a great presentation, graphics that were good that they sorta pushed the ps2 a little too far. you could notice this at times while you're playing the game. and reloading a gun has never looked so awesome and because of that, there were times that i simply fired at wasted ammo just so i could see myself reloading. my biggest complaint is the length of the game. was too short. unlike some critics, i don't care about Killzone not having a jump button. look at the way the levels are designed. do any of them look like they require any jumping? i sure don't see it. play the game and you'll see why i disagree with gamespot's score. i disagree with lots of their reviews but i'd say this is the main one)

PS2 Racers:

Gran Turismo 3: A Spec, Gran Turismo 4. GT3 gets my vote for best racing game ever created but only because i'm not so into racing games. it's just my favorite out of each racing game i've ever played.

PS2 Car Combat:

Twisted Metal: Black. the best car combat game ever made, IMO.

the xbox might be the better pick for those that love their racing games and first person shooters but in the end, the fact is, the PS2 will remain as the king of all consoles for a very, very long time because of everything that they had to offer. not just shooters and racers. long live the king! and sorry for the extremely long post. i'm 15 and had nothing better to do with my time today. i wasn't cutting school, i swear. i had nothing better to do today and besides, this took me like 40 minutes to write. that's not as long as it seemed is it? LOL! :roll: the ps2 simply has tons more to choose from. more variety. more memorable games. how does that not make the PS2 better than the xbox? please explain, because graphics and xbox live obviously doesn't win it for the xbox.
