This is quite an interesting question.... R2 and L2 for racing games... others i would say square for beat em ups and R1 for shooters .... :)
Option #1. Probably X. I rapidly pressed it alot to run in GTA: SA. But then again, I press circle a hell of a lot in God of War.
During game play i would say x but when Im not play games I like to pop the L3 and R3 buttons up and down.
It would be a close call between X and R1 after playing so much GTA, but I gotta give the edge to my X button. It's a trooper.
X - Ive pressed that button 2.561.784 times. Followed up close with the R1 which I have pressed a nice 2.561.752 times.
Square is my most touched mainly because after playing alot of tony hawk and Ratchet and Bully and ETC.

The power/reset button. Only joking. No love for the D-pad? That thing gets abused by me.At the moment, none of them. Strum bar, baby.
 lol , that's an interesting question . I would have to say all of em , cuz while playing Tekken , if you mash all the buttons together , you will pull off an amazing move and KO ur opponent ......
It has to be X... due to its proximity to the thumb and to the palm of the hand... so I guess it's all about positioning...

I would say R1, X, and the right analog stick (moved not clicked). My R2 button and L2 buttons are sometimes stuck and I don't use them a lot.
