I got a part time job at GNC to get a new computer.
$6.15 + Commission usually anwhere from 20-40 each time you work
By next month I should have enough to get a pretty decent setup.

I hope you'e in your teens to be getting a job for a specific object.
I know someone who recently graduated from high school, lives with his parents, and got a PT job -- to pay for MTG cards! This is all he does.

Haha I was the same way, although I was in the sixth grade. lol
But during my MTG phase, I would spend almost all my money on those things.
thats amazing ... and what are you doing? working a full time job just to pay your rent lmao. I'm only 16 btw so dont try and come back with saying i'm probably 40 years old or something...I hope you'e in your teens to be getting a job for a specific object.

for my birthday my parents said they would match every dollar I made to put it towards a new computer. at least I sort of had to work for it.
Most people think that PC gaming is uber exspenive, it is only exspendive when you buy it in bulk. If you get a good starter computer and peice mail it togeather when ever you got the extra money it will surprize you how fast you can get a top of the line computer up and running.tehrealdoa
very true, its turned out easier than i thought.
my friend's dad owns a construction company, so i spend my 2 months of summer earning $13 an hour for 8 hours every day building houses, fences, etc.
im 16 btw. plenty of $$$ in the coffer for upgrades/car in the near future.
wowow...i work, i find i dont really want to work just to supply parts for a computer, it seems kind of silly imo but i do it anyways, heh, so it goesjoeblue101

I am one of the lucky few to have actually done what he wants to do. I'm finishing my MD right now after getting a PhD. I have published research. I also have a family. Anything else?
I'm going to assume this question is kinda pointed at younger people, but I have a job.. My main job I use to live, and once I really look at how much it costs to pay for cars and homes and rents and fooooood.. omg food.. A computer that costs 2k that will last me a few years, even two.. Is not really that much.
Luckily I cheated and joined the military, so I make very little, but all of it is after they take out housing and food and crap costs. Still gotta pay for that car, though. Military pay (with housing and food already taken out, so it's okay that it's not THAT much) without and with a car is like.. night and day.
I am a cook at a restaurant. My paycheck generally goes toward tuition, rent, and bills but if I have any left over I might spend it. Also, I am cool with the waiters so when they come to split their tips with me they are pretty generous. Whatever tips I dont spend at the bars after work usually gets put into my cash sock and then spent when I have accumulated enough money....game, graphics card, etc.
It sucks, though, because I should save my money, but my mindset is that can wait for when I get a real career after college. So ya, I scrape by but I am pretty happy.
