What game(s) do you keep going back to despite its age on PC?

Regardless of the hype and new features in todays games, I find myself going back to older games/previous installments. I don't get too much enjoyment out of playing retro games such as DOOM or the like, but I do find myself going back and playing games from 2005-2010 a lot more than what is out now.

When it comes to FPS games, I prefer to play a nice relaxing match of COD4 Team Deathmatch or Search and Destroy than any of the more recent Call of Duty games.

When it comes to RPG style games I keep going back to Fallout 3. Such a good soundtrack and setting makes this game too memorable to move on from at the moment.

Also, am I the only one who still plays Battlefront 2? XD

FPS: Half Life, Half Life 2, Crysis

RTS: Age of Empires (all of them), Company of Heroes

A lot of times, when my PC gets outdated and begins to struggle playing new games on medium settings I often go back to older games.

I did that with my previous PC, but now that I have a new one I have a lot more recent games installed. I still go back to the ones above though.

I still go back to Killing Floor. I just started playing it last year and its my second most played game on Steam

Doom and Raptor, though i don't usually replay due to me wanting to experience something els. I mostly play very old games 90% of my gaming time because i've never played before.

X-COM: UFO Defense and Heroes of Might & Magic III. They just don't get old.

FEAR is incredible. I had the pleasure of playing it the first time this summer and could not believe how well it has aged. I am currently playing the Extraction Point right now and am thoroughly enjoying that as well.

totally forgot about FEAR. I still play that every now and again. Also just recently played FEAR 2 finally. It was better than I expected. Might try out 3, but I've heard very mixed things.

All these F.E.A.R. posts are making me feel dumb for passing on it when it was on sale late last year. I think all of it together was less than $10. I'll have to keep my eye out for it again this year. :)

Lets see a lot of them..SImcity 4. diablo one and two..Railroad tycoon 1 2 an 3..rollercoaster tycoon 3. railroads, simcity 2000 also..Wife still plays the first sims from time to time..So its on my pc..Half like one and 2..There many games out there i still play..Loaded up might and magic 7 the other day, man i miss them days..Star trek games some of them..Command an conquer the originals..

I still go back and make characters in Daggerfall every now and again. I usually make it through Privateer's Hold and then never touch them again.

It's the one thing I miss more than anything in Elder Scrolls: character creation. Skyrim destroyed it entirely.

L4D2 is another, Team Fortress 2 to a lesser extent.

For singleplayer games, FEAR i've played through three or four times although I'm unsure of whether I'll play it again. Half-Life 2 I've played through a few times and will likely play again before whatever sequel it ever gets comes out.

I also played through Mass Effect 1 three times and loved each run through, although the sequels don't stand up to multiple playthroughs nearly as well for whatever reason.

Stalker: SoC I've played three times but i'm not sure if I'll go back to it again. Been a while since I've had a chance to play through an old singleplayer favourite, barely have enough time to keep up with new releases as it is

there are many, but mount and blade especailly comes to mind. Mount and Blade 2 was announced recently mind you.

I'll also throw in Company of Heroes. Yeah... sure you heard that CoD2 is commin too.
