Pretty much exclusively singleplayer. The only multiplayer I enjoy is same-TV console or LAN PC multiplayer with friends and the odd time I feel like playing Day of Defeat or Team Fortress 2.

Multiplayer for the most part is becoming an excuse for developers to not spend time on the singleplayer and say "you still get your money's worth because you get 100+ hours of entertainment out of our online portion" even though that online experience is always the exact same thing spread out over a long period of time.

I almost never buy or play games (unless they are like of Defeat or Team Fortress 2, games designed for multiplayer) that don't offer a good and/or lengthy/replayable singleplayer experience.

im shocked so many prefer single player, for me its all about the multiplayer, sure I enjoy a good single player campaign, but I personally can forgive a bad single player experience for an excellent online experience.

I think online is where the replayability lies and thats a big deal, i don't want a game u just play once through the campaign and never play it again!

Single Player by far. There's only several truly great online games, IMO. (Quake 3, RTCW, UT04 are a few of them.)

I personally like single player, or online with co-op. I don't mind multiplayer if I don't play it all the time because then I just get frustrated easily.

If they're both well-made, I see no reason why not to like both.

Multiplayer all the way. I tend to play very few singe player games and those select few I do play are generally very highly regarded.

Generally I like both equally but it depends on the game. Some games I like to play multiplayer mostly. Others I prefer singleplayer. For example, I have never played Civilization 5 online because I know the games would take way too long to finish, but I almost always play Starcraft 2 online. For multiplayer I like typical lobby style multiplayer, not MMOs. I do have fun playing MMOs, but I usually play solo in the outer world, only grouping up for raids and pvp.

i like both, but i must say multiplayer.

online games get me hundreds and hundreds of hours fun, when singleplayer games usully can do 20-30h (at the very best). i'm not the kind of guy who would usually replay singleplayer games.

good, challenging singleplayers are so rare these days. in online games, the challenge comes from other skilled players, and the gameplay constantly varies because of human factor. and it's social.

that said, i'm enjoying the crap out of Dark Souls atm. it's social AND singleplayer. pretty unique game gem. almost the perfect "3d-metroidvania" i've been looking for.

It depends on my mood really, though lately I haven't been playing many multiplayer games because I've got plenty of singleplayer games to go through

Only mp game I truly enjoyed was CS, and only with friends at LAN cafes. Apart from that sp all the way.

Single Player. I do play multiplayer, but it's mostly confined to coop.

I prefer SP over MP hands down. I do play MP, but for the most part I spend 90% of my gaming time on SP.

I prefer multiplayer, it's hilarious. I'll play a singleplayer game, obviously, and I don't mind if they don't include multiplayer but I really hate paying +20 dollars for something that will last me 10 hours or less with no replay value.

I'd say co-op is my number one mode type.

Multiplayer is fun for the rush and chance to play with friends, single player is great for the chance to kick back and play at my pace, with a game like, say, Borderlands 2 or Saints Row 3 I can kind of get the best of both worlds. Kind of, you don't quite get too many games with the complexity of Fallout offering 4 player co-op I suppose.

Overall, multiplayer because of the comradery. Nothing more enjoyable than teaming up with a group of friends in an MMO, or multiplayer game and just kickin' ass, taking names and having fun. Single-player games are nice for immersion but it usually ends very fast and 50% of them have shitty endings.
