Due to PCI-E 4.0's higher speed, X570 based motherboard uses server grade signalling quality. I'm looking at yet another MSI AC Carbon X570 mobo for ARGB :p.

Heard this to, where you at? Already know UK prices will be a con, I may go X299 next month instead or pick up Z370 and wait for 2021.

Kinda not interested in the ultra high end stuff, more concerned about your middle ground gear. Was actually interested in the mini crosshair from Asus or Aorus mini one. But I reckon they will be at least £199 and above and that is more than what I would pay for a motherboard.
On the verge of importing a EVGA X299 Micro from Amazon, less than a 100 quid and my favourite brand. Although the CPU is almighty expensive, and probably not worth it.
Have to wait for some reviews on how these new CPU work on B450 as I'm def not willing to spend half the price of the CPU for a mobo filled with tech I won't even use.
The expensive mobos with no B550 option 'till next year, along with 'meh' Navi specs/price must be the reasons why AMD stocks tanked after E3.

I keep the CPU for a few years. I'm kinda fed up with having loads of HDD in my case. Takes up space and looks ugly imo. Atm only got an 1tb sata based M.2 drive. For storage I use a ICSCi option. So I got an external NAS configured to work as an internal drive. What sucks about this is that I am limited to the 1GBit lan port in speed. The NAS drive is filled 2 4TB drives running in RAID 1, whereas 3.5TB is set aside to the ICSCi option. Finally with X570 boards, 2.5GBit lan ports are becoming more common. Sure I do need a new case for my external drives that supports higher speed as well, since the one I got atm only supports 1GBit. Still it is a small step ahead.

amd needs to be careful here if the boards are too expensive goodwill from gamers will turn to anger, if the boards are stacked with high end features like all in one mobo liquid cooling that's one thing but if there aren't any passive cooling good but simple mobos for a good price prolly $120 to $150 all the hype for these chips will evaporate quickly.
amd needs to remember their brand is decent products at good prices, not a good idea to piss off your fans who have been loyal to second place products.

Depends on the real world support of the Zen2 on older boards (assuming that the manufacturers will continue to make B450 and X470 mobos after X570 release), i.e. MSI B450 Tamahawk is a great mobo for $100-$120 with USB BIOS flashback function, so would be a great "budget" option for new Zen2 builds as long as older chipsets can really handle up to 2x more cores.

but loyal customers still deserve a chance to take the 570 chipset for a spin. I know that the 570 chipset use more power and run hot and cost more to produce, but from what I understand from reputable tech journalists it is still possible to do passive cooling on the chipset and come in at lower price, some of these mobos were on display at computech but mobo vendors were being cagey about the price of these instead insisting that high end boards like what they design for intel are on average roughly $200 and its amd that wants to play in that space.

PCIE4 wont matter. even the 2080TI is not held back at all by PCIE3 16X. 4 seems to be more about fast storage.
if it was me (doesn't overclock or tinker....just put it in the box and dont fuss). i would be leaning more towards a B450 or maybe a solid X470 option and putting the rest of the money towards something else in the PC.
from what i saw (which was brief in fairness so do correct me if im wrong) there isnt anything in the 3000 series (outside of PCIE4) that relies on X570 to deliver its performance and features.
it's a bit odd that B550 is so far away though :S.

Not really... I only noticed a difference in boot times with a NVMe but game loads?... Nah, I run my games off a SSHD not even a SSD so waiting a extra 10-20 seconds is not a issue for me at all. Also that's what I am thinking, we clearly don't see a load time benefit from going 550Mb ssd to a 3500Mb NVMe now but once games are developed with next generation consoles in mind I think that will slowly start to change and at that point I might end up just grabbing a 1TB NVMe for games on PC.

the difference is you can now get x8 pcie-e ssd's performance in x4 m2 slot, x8 ones were rare and expensive not really aimed at home users before
