Hello. I have Rtx 3090 Gaming Pro and 9700K stock. I have 17500 points in timespy graphic score which is low because on reviews i should be get 19.000+-. Powerplan is to balanced.

WHen i change powerplan to fullperformance i am getting 19.000 points and its fine. I have newest nvidia drivers. Any ideas?

In port royal i have 12.500

My scores are normal with balanced power plan in:

Unigine Superposition 1080P EXTREME ,12154pts<- normal, 3dmark extreme 23,500 gpu <--normal

Only in timespy i have 1000 points gap between balanced vs max performance.

During test cpu dropping random clocks in timespy on balanced. In max performance is steady 4600mhz so thats why i think i have lower score with balanced.

In max performance i have 19000 gpu score +- in time spy.

Games running ok with balanced.

I have 9700K on stock

PC

Aorus Z390 Pro Gaming

2x16 GB DDR4 GSKILL

9700K stock

Seasonic 750W Ultra Titanium Plus Prime

Windows 10 up to date no programs in background

Your problem is using default power saving options in windows.... You need to change the cpu power management to like minimum 20% and max 100%. Balanced uses 10% and maximum to 90%, so your never going to see 100% of your cpu clock rate all the time. Make sure your set your gpu power management on optimal or max performance in nvidia control panel as well.

Your gpu performance seems to be fine, its your cpu that's lowering the benchmark scores.

you can but I would change the min state and max cpu state to 20%/100% vs the default 10%/90%

@04dcarraher: on mine, the processor state on balanced is 5%-100%. I don't remember ever changing it. Are you sure that's the default case?

It depends on the cpu, version of windows etc. Ive seen Ryzen systems have multiple default configs, from 10-90% to 5%-99% as well as intel based systems having different minimums, which can cause core parking.

SO when i run on balanced ,cpu speed randomly drops down and up and gpu load is 85% and then gpu score is 18.000+-. When i put on max performance mode, cpu speed is steady 4600mhz gpu load is 96% and score is normal 19.000+-.

I think it has something with motherboard settings, but they are on default.

@sew333:

I could be partly from the motherboard but the fact that the performance increases when you change the power plan in windows tells you that windows is putting limits as well.

CPU differences play a role, ram speed etc..... Dude just change your power plan to max performance or change the cpu min/max ratio in balanced and be done with it.
