Planetside 2

I've started playing Planetside 2 again and have quickly found myself getting addicted.

I think it's brilliant that a Free to Play game can offer so much content to free players, and the game has improved substantially since release.

I spent way too much time running long distances. The huge firefights were sweet, but did not happen enough.

Yup, agree OP. It has ruined all other multiplayer shooters for me.

Emerald server - Merlin

I played it when it launched and everything was tuned so heavily towards micro-transactions. It was way too painful to level up without spending money. It turned me off from the game and I never returned.

I played the beta and I remember playing as New Conglomerate. I was shooting a tank and the tank would not take any damage. It really turned me off towards the game because it wasn't working as intended. Haven't looked back since.

Did you join a squad or outfit? Joining squads immediately is essential to most people's enjoyment, because it (normally) means you can get into the fights in seconds. If you are really far away, a redeploy or using the buggy/rover/airplane really helps get to further away places within 30 secs. And if the map has no big battles it can help to take a look at the other maps because sometimes 2 teams have given up on one map and all went elsewhere.

That was a bug. Betas often have bugs.
