Uh just wondering with the contrast ratio... is 1000:1 or 500:1 better? and the lower the response time, as in 8ms, is better right?

1000:1 is alot better. You want 8ms and lower.

Yeah, 1000:1 is alot better! Response time for LCD monitors means alot, you dont want any ghosting at all when your playing games. I would recommend 8ms or lower as well.
