Is Dead Space 2 worth $60.00?

I'd like to buy Dead Space 2 from Steam, but I can't justify paying $60.00 for a single player game that isn't very long and doesn't have much replay-value. I know that it has a new multiplayer mode, but I am very uninterested. So, for those of you who have the game, how many hours long was the single player campaign? I'd imagine that it doesn't have much replay value because once you know all of the plot details, there is nothing left to be surprised about when you play it again.

I'm sure this game is pretty good, maybe even worth $60.00, but I'd be shocked if the price doesn't just drop like a rock over the next couple of months. I would wait on a price drop.PurpleMan5000

On another note, sometimes I think that the only games which should be a full $60.00 are open world games with very long campaigns (at least 25 hours) and/ or extensively fleshed out multi-player modes. Essentially, the game should have tons of replay-value, so that you keep playing it for months. However, games like Dead Space 2, which are just single player games with moderately lengthy campaigns should cost no more than $30.00.

Does DS2 have any replay value? I don't mean anything extensive. But, when I beat the game, will it give me a few reasons (if subtle ones) to make a return trip? Maybe when all that aforementioned DLC comes out. LOL

Yes, easily. It has a strong campaign and, although I haven't replayed it yet as I only beat it yesterday, it seems like it will have good replay value.

I pre-ordered it a long time ago. During Pax, EA had a code to take 20$ off a 40$+ purchase

Nothing is worth $60 anymore. I've grown so bored with gaming that I've almost started to believe that there are no more original ideas out there.

Games go up in price to $60, 8-10 hour campaign, weak multiplayer, no second-hand sales. Have publishers lost their minds, or gamers? I can't believe these things sell millions of copies.

I haven't paid more than $10 for a PC game in 2 years, and I couldn't be happier. I have 20 games in my backlog, and a MMO that I love to play.

I just completed chapter 8. i already know its worth 60 dollars for me. its really good. like. really good. for me, hours of play doesnt matter as much, its the level of quality i care about. i would pay 50 dollars for super meat boy becasue it was that good. and i definately feel good about paying 60 dollars for deadspace 2.

You can get this game for 25-50 bucks on ebay and amazon so it's not worth the 60 bucks, I really don't pay 60 bucks for PC games, only did it with Star Craft 2, but half of it was hype.

It probably is, because you can easily play through it at least twice. However, I have a feeling that you will have some huge sales not that long from now, if BFBC2 or Mass Effect 2 are anything to go by.
