i7 4770k, h100i, z87-g45, 780 Ti msi, 16gb ram, 3TB hdd, 500gb hdd?

I'm curious whether I will be able to hit the highest settings on a 24'' monitor at the time when the Witcher 3 is here.

your pc is outdated big time, you'll have to upgrade again before witcher 3 comes out. I dunno if you can even play wow on that pos.

But joking aside... your pc is good obviously. I would get an ssd for playing games off though for even more speed and less waiting for games to load up.

And the stupidest thing I remember about witcher 2 was a setting called "Uber Sampling", which is just super sampling. It didnt make things look any better I found, just blured the leaves a lot and caused framerates to go 3-4x less. Its funny they put in a useless setting the cause huge performance hit just to make it seem like their game is more demanding then anything else out there so it must be better also. Of course super sampling will bring fps down to crap, even on old games if you add to much you will be able to chug the fps down badly.

I usually would agree with this kind of replay if the question would be "is it good for today's gaming?" or "would I be able to game on decent settings?"

But the guy just asked how long will it last.

With those specs you could max games up to 3 years or more from now, depends on the game.

As long as you want it to last, my GTX 460 paired with my Intel i5-2500 has lasted me 4 years. Back then people would of estimated my PC to last 1-2 years only but I said **** the rules, swallowed my pride and lowered some of the graphical settings in games and have been fine ever since.

Hell I've even maxed out some recent games at 1080p.

I like this guys thinking. See how long a 780 ti can play games before it becomes useless. Using the pc almost like a super console sounds fun!

Those questions are actually answerable though.

'How long will it last?' is hugely ambiguous and subjective.

You'll be fine for next 3 yrs or so. It's a pretty solid build!
Stop worrying and enjoy the build.
If you don't know how than do a little research and OC your CPU and GPU. You'll get more out of it.

it will last a few decades if you take care of it. There is an old pentium 3 PC that's been running at my work since 1998. Its borderline useless and cant just about do the one task it as to do, but it works.

I only started at my work in 2006 but I know that PC was installed there when the building opened.
