graphic card can't be recognized

I tried to update my graphics driver, after I did I checked the NVIDA control panel. I usually have a dual GeForce GTX260, but they weren't there. I had to do a system restore to get it back, and have my laptop running fine again.

How would I be able to update my driver without having this problem?

Did you go to their website to update your drivers?
