Two great classics!

I'll just agree with those, my list would be huge, and would cover multipe systems.

Deus Ex 1 and 2, Beyond Good and Evil, Indigo Prophecy, Zelda OoT/WW/TP. There were others as well, but they were in my kid era, when I was much easier to please.

I racked up a $140 internet bill the first month I started playing CS...

My rates were four free hours a day, after the four free hours were up it was a penny a minute, free from 12:00am - 6:00am, $25 monthly fee.

So I spent...at least 312 hours playing the first month I disovered it...oh to be 14 again... :P

Age Of Empires II and now that I have the expansion for III I have been playing it. I got hooked on RTS games with Warcraft II Tides of Darkness. I would be a WOW addict if it were not for the subscription fees.

Ultima VII: The Black Gate. I just couldn't stop. When I had to go to work I would tell people, "I AM the Avatar!" and they would of course think I was insane, like they didn't already know that.

Morrowind was like that for me too. I went nuts exploring and pillaging, raiding the Vivec treasuries and suiting up my armor mannikens in my house (both mods), playing various mods, etc. and I never did play the damned main story. I am trying to reform my wicked self and do that now actually.

Oh, I almost forgot but I don't know how I could... EverQuest. Years of EverQuest.

Metal Gear Solid 3, the whole story and the ending was just amazing I just had to replay it after I finished it the first time. Knights of the Old Republic is also another game that I think I've beaten 3 times in a month alone.

Man, I played Diablo2 for like 5 years. I only stoped to play Titan Quest, and now I am glued to that as well. Need for Speed is another game that is guilty of chewing up hours of my life, lol.

Bioshock was the most recent but there have been others. Half-Life 1 & 2, Arcanum, Divine Divinity, and Nox just to name a few.

Edit: I forgot to add in Overlord.

Each of the Unreal Tournaments, till the next one came.

CounterStrike

Warcraft DotA Mod.

As you can see, all these are multiplayers. max replayability.

I almost always play all single players twice. First on average difficulty and then the next higher. Sometimes on the easiest just for fun.

It is definately worth the price of buying it right away. I've already finished it once and will be playing it again to see one of the other endings.

I really have to think about this hard before I answer it. In my younger days, "Games you just couldn't stop playing..." meant something entirely different than it does today. As a kid, I "just couldn't stop playing..." because it was the only game I had and I couldn't afford a new one, nor would my parents buy me another. However, I remember playing Tekken 2/3 and Diablo pretty religiously. Oh yeah, and Goldeneye, although I think pretty much everyone is int he same boat as me on that one.

Since I've been able to afford my own games - Blade of Darkness springs to mind. It was my first real experience with a PC game (aside from Diablo of course), but man it was one hell of a game in general. Add to that, Jedi Outcast, Prince of Persia, and Freedom Fighters. Personally, I get bored with games after I've beat them, so there has to be somehting pretty special about them to make me come back for more.

However, probably my all time most played game - Call of Duty. Damn, I was a badass in the original, but that isn't hard to conceive since I pretty much played it all day, every day. I got so good, literally every single server I played on would kick me out because they thought I was hacking. I don't blame them though. Some of the crap I pulled off in that game... I would have thought the same thing. But, it wasn't hacks, and it really wasn't skill - it was just the fact that I played it constantly. I was a professional slacker then, and FPS's have world class reknown for being the games that pretty mcuh play out the same way everytime. There is always some sniper noobin building X or corner Y. It gets to the point where you don't even have to see someone there. There is ALWAYS someone in those spots, so you just shoot, and you always get a kill. Plus I was pretty quick back then, so that helped against the players who could actually play. Main point is, memorization and effortless key strokes (which takes some practice)can make you a god in any online FPS.

Personally, I would purchase the game until they got rid of that pesky copy protection and fixed all those PC issues. I unfortunately purchased the game day 1, and have regretted it as I can't even play the game without it crashing every couple of minutes.
