always physical. if digital had a lower price tag then it would be tempting. but as long as i can get a physical copy for the same price as digital i will always go physical. i kind of collect games too, so having a physical representation of the collection has a lot to do with it.

All my games dont require a disc. So its just a waste of space.

Digital because of the convenience and the fact that I get most of my games when they are on sale. And I can just preload the game and have it all ready to play on release day.

Physical FTW, I never bought a digital game at full price (except for indie titles) :D

Mix of both. I like having a physical copy of a game, especially when the box and contents are good quality. However i also prefer having all my games stored in one place, so a physical copy that activates on steam is great imo.

Personally, I always prefer physical copies because if my computer dies, I know I have the CD. I know that sounds old fashioned to say that because of the way the internet is these days but it's not that great where I live however I'd say it's not that great in Aus for all of us. I live on the Sunshine Coast in Qld and have satellite with limited downloads, so if I had all digital copies I'd kind of be at a loss. I'm experiencing that with Steam actually. I got a new laptop at the start of the year, made the Steam back up exe and tried to move the whole lot to my new laptop and it just didn't go as smoothly as I had hoped. For some reason it never really worked and I've essentially just started my Steam downloads from scratch. Because of my download limitations I still haven't downloaded everything in my library and restored it back to how it was. So unless it's Steam Sales, I will usually always buy physical. Besides, there are times I really love the preorders and special editions of things. Sucker for things like that, waste of money sure but hey I like it.

Physical for the same reason as Rattlesnake_8. It go something like this: Physical > GoG (yes i burn all the files onto a cd once in a while) > Humble bundles > Other digital services.

For me, digital is by far the better option as it is generally much cheaper than retail copies thanks to aussie price gauging and it is far more convenient.

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"][QUOTE="Chickan_117"]If we both picked a game I'd bet that I could buy, download and install it faster than you could drive to the shops, purchase it, drive home and install it.

There is a thing called home delivery ya know.... :P

Yeah, like waiting a day or more later...

Nah they usually get delivered 1-2 days early.

Physical, because it lasts no matter what happens with the company you bought it from.

Digital is so much easier than changing CDs all the time, plus it saves you a lot of shelf space.

Just spent over an hour looking for my Doom 3 CD case and key today, and was reminded how much freaking easier Steam has made organizing my collection.

I'm starting to see the appeal of digital.

Only problem is my mistrust of services and their policies. I feel like Steam can lock me out of my library at any time.

I want absolute ownership of my purchase and that's hard to do with digital.

Digital, I hate the clutter a large library of games can create.

You'll be dead before that happens (with Steam at least) so don't worry about it.

And even then Steam Preloads let you download the game and play them as soon as it's time to play.

Steam is nice but only for Steamdeals. Dishonored for example is 50 euro's on Steam but I bought the physical copy (which still plays via Steam) for 35 euro's new from the store around the block. New games on Steam are mad overpriced.

So for me it's physical > digital unless cheap.

If you are a collector, a digital list on your computer is nowhere near as satisfying as a bookshelf full of games. I prefer boxed, and collector's editions of games I care about.

Nearly always retail. Steam have stupid pricing on new games that is there for months and months. Its quite easy to find a retail game for $10+ less than steam at release. Wait a month or so and its usually 30 - 50% less than steam.

I used to do retail cos I wanted to be a collector and **** no more. I will only buy digital unless the game is groundbreakingly awesome like Mass Effect, Orange Box, Batman etc.

I almost always go digital. Getting a physical copy of Wasteland 2 when it comes out for the old school huge box though.

ive moved a lot in the past few years, and i really am glad for most of my games being on steam...less to pack. also...the apartments i used to live in before my wife and i got married and moved this most recent time were rather small for having 200+ game boxes sitting around in my room
