Diablo 3 Open Beta this weekend!

Sorry if this has been posted already, but there is going to be an open beta for Diablo 3 this weekend. It starts at noon on Friday and ends Monday morning.

i have the full client for release downloaded but i assume i need to download the beta client right?

Play a class you know you won't play (soon) on release. The beta isn't very long at all, around 2 hours. I don't think it'd ruin the game at all.

P2P is activated by default on blizzard installer. So Im pretty sure CDudu should disable it. Since his/hers ISP may throttle P2P.

I'm downloading diablo 3 now. I get 200-300 with p2p (300-400 on WoW), without p2p I get 600-800 (500-600 on WoW).

I disabled it and now l get 300-400.

Crap. Now i get an error with the installer data... I think it's in the stars for me to wait for the game May 15th.. lol

Edit: I tried running it in Windows XP mode like others suggested, but during the installation, it said that I needed a newer OS. I go back and set the compatibiility OS to Windows 7 again, and it says it could not open the installer data.

Apparently, it's already a major issue with the beta client. Threads are growing as we speak.

my launcher stops downloading for no apparent reason, several people i know are having the same issue. they should have given us a forewarning, to be able to get some of the issues sorted.Kh1ndjal

They'll probably have it fixed by nightfall, Friday (today). Let's hope at least.. or else I'll continue to wait for May 15th, which I hope doesn't bring any issues like this.

Tried updating the setup files again, and it's stuck at 60%. Mind you, this is just for the installer, not for the beta setup itself.

I've already played enough of the beta but is there any major changes to the beta that is worth re-downloading again?

thankfully my finals are in two weeks...and i only have one final soo woooot! downloading client right now :D

Meh, I will jsut wait another 26 days or so.

Haven't played beta, or seen many videos, so I am trying to keep the surprisement, and wow factor contained until I am actually playing the full release. (minus pvp for a few months)

yeah i had it disabled when i was downloading and my low end was 700kbps...learned that from when it would litterally take me days to download sc2...for some reason blizz + p2p doesnt work for me at all

It's such a small part of the game that I don't think it'll spoil anything really.

hmm...im on the rocks about this. for some reason im not excited about diablo 3 at all but im anxously awaiting torchlight 2, and i havent played a single game from either franchise.... (well i think i played D1 back when it first came out, oh so long ago for a little while at my friends house) yeah, its a crime i know. slvrraven9
