Hi guys. My pc:

I have 12900K stock

32 GB 2x16 GB DDR4 3600mhz

Palit Gamerock Pro OC rtx 4090

1300W Seasonic Platinum Prime

Aorus Elite DDR4 Z690

Windows 11 2H22. Updated new nvidia drivers.

Today i played Control and after exiting game to desktop i had 2 errors in event log.

2 errors.

1.display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

2.The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

\Device\000000ab

Error occurred on GPUID: 100

Rma card now or just keep it ? I have card 3 months and never crashed driver and nvlddmkm after exiting Control.

Should i rma card or why that happened? Something with voltage, clock jumps? I read something on reddit that someone with Rtx 4090 had crashes driver after exiting games, too. But on my card it happened once. Thx

Seems a little more like a driver error to me. I would a least look at using DDU first before a drastic step of an RMA.

  • Download the Nvidia driver manually and store it somewhere.
  • Run DDU to remove your drivers and restart the PC
  • Install the driver you downloaded earlier and try your game again.
