TC dont let anyone fool you into buying a high res LCD.If you want to play in crazy resolutions(which is not really worth it) go with CRT ONLY.Thinker_145
I'm starting to think you are the last CEO of a company who solely makes CRT monitors. No one wants a 100lb monitor on their desk. The 226bw series of Samsung monitors are absolutely amazing. Have you ever seen one in person? I doubt you have, or you'd reconsider your stubborn TN Panel stance. Let the CRT ship sink, it's old technology.

The TC is SOO much worried about losing performance in high resolutions.Obviously advicing him to buy a high res LCD is not a good idea.
The easiest and simplest way for TC is to buy a 19" CRT.And since he currently have a 17"CRT,he would most likely have the desk space for a 19" as well.
Thinker,CRT does have things LCD don't,but LCD also has things CRT don't,why can't you just leave at that?Indestructible2Ofcourse i know that.
But it depends on the situation.A CRT would serve the TC better in this case.
can't you guys just answer my q's instead of going to an lcd/crt battle :
--------------
cod 4,everythinh max at 1024x768 : 60 FPS
cod 4 everything max at 1280x1024: 50-55 FPS
Kane&Lynch at max 1024x768: 60 FPS
kane&lynch at max 1280x1024 : 60 FPS again
CMR-DiRT at everthing ultra 1024x768: 32-43 fps
CMR-DiRT at everthng ultra 1280x1024: 22-33 fps
Stranglehold-max 10x7 60 fps
stranglehold-max 12-10 60 fps again sometimes drops at 50
so seems likei won't be loosing too much if i go to an 19' lcd wide?

Well actually i am wrong here. The article says that the 8800GT runs gears in dx10 with no AA "very well".So surely AA wont kill it.I never myself tried gears above 12x10 so dont really know was just going by this.Cheers.i dont belive in benchmarks as diffrent pc's get diffrence performance also there using old drivers im usin 169.28 the one there using is 169.04 they are very oldIQT786Ya thats a very good point.
