What controller would you guys recommend? I'm tired of some of these games that just don't seem to 'work' on a KB&M, Bioshock2 and Need for Speed: Hot pursuit come to mind. I've been thinking of the Microsoft controller, but man..., it's a hefty price.

The 360 wired controller for windows by far. The most compatibility you can get. Works with a LOT of games right out of the box

I use a Logitech F510. It works on any game that the 360 pad would work with, plus it has the Ps3 layout that I am more accustomed to

Wouldn't that require bluetooth? I don't know if I have that(Asus Crosshair IV).

Nah, as long as you use the recharge cable for connect your DS3 to your PC then it is all good. Only requirement is to download MotionJoy.

The 360 Controller gets good reviews.... but I use the Logitech Wireless F710 GamePad and it's awesome. No lag on the wireless and works with most games. http://www.logitech.com/en-us/gaming/controllers/wireless-gamepad-f710

xLittlekillx

Yup

I've been gaming with controllers since the Atari 2600, and the 360's is the most comfortable and well laid out controller I have ever used.

It's made it almost impossible for me to enjoy playing my PS3, because using the PS3's Dualshock feels like garbage in comparison. Sony needs to drop that dinosaur of a design and come up with something much better for the PS4.

Oh, and most games are developed with the 360 controller in mind (and for good reason, as I have already explained) so that is no small thing.

I use both a wired and a wireless 360 controller with my PC, and it has worked perfectly for me. All of the benefits of the PC, but with fully integrated 360 controls. Very cool.

Have u tried the one I mentioned before? It feels really solid and comfortable as well. I use it to play hours and hours of FIFA on the PC and it's great.

The placement of the analog sticks on that Logitech is a non-starter for me. The 360's offset sticks are a huge part of what makes it so nice, so when I see a controller with "Playstation" stick placement, it turns me off immediately.

I'm glad to hear that you like it, though. It looks like a very nice controller for those that like that style.

i like my ps3 controller more with bluetooth connected with ds3tool emulating a 360 controller is nice. 360 controller is better for shooters. I like the PS3 controller because it's quite a lot better for platformers.

Do you use the D-pad while playing platformers? That is the only case in where I would choose the PS3 controller over the 360's (but I haven't played a game using the D-pad for many years, so it is a non-issue for me).

If someone was going to purchase a controller to play nothing but fighting games or platformers with a D-pad, I would tell them to avoid the 360 controller, but for everything else I would strongly urge them to go with the 360 controller.

The wired 360 controller is amazing for PC games. Most games recognize the controller right away and map out the whole controls in terms of 360 controls, so instead of saying "press enter" it will say something like "press A"

For simplicity sake get the x360 controller, but I like the ds3 better is just that motionjoy + press a x y b pop ups instead of circle X triangle is confusing.

Avoid fighting games on x360, I don't use the d-pad much but I imagine its pure garbage.

360 is best, not only 90 percent of console ports are ported from the 360, windows 7 has plug and play support for the 360 pad

I use a 360 wired controller. You can pick them up at a reasonable price and theyre compatible with nearly every modern game.

For everything else there is Xpadder.

I agree.

The best controller when it comes to compatibility and grip. And Xpadder is the best possible program for PC bindings on controllers

i just use dualshock 3 over bluetooth for my games and use the DS3 tool to change it for games that use 360 controllers. but there's some games that feel better with the 360 controller so i sometimes switch to a wireless 360 controller with the PC receiver.

The wired 360 controller is probably your best bet. It just works. Native support on the majority of console ports. Any GFWL game has native support too (it's a requirement of GFWL).

Is it? Bioshock 2 is GFWL and doesn't support it :?

Get the 360 controller and the Wireless controller dongle (an additional $10-$20) if you want to go wireless, and the Razer Onza if you want a slightly cheaper (and wired) solution. Then get Xpadder, a $10 program that will allow you to use the controller with any game of your choosing.

If you asked me what the best controller is without any contest I'd say the following: http://eightarc.com/fusion-ebony Far more moddable but not dual modded out the box: http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Major-League-Gaming-6306200/dp/B005LTSS7C/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1348194085&sr=1-1&keywords=mlg+fightstick Cheaper?: http://www.amazon.com/Playtech-Arcade-Fighting-Stick-Playstation-3/dp/B004DFDVWW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1348109649&sr=8-3&keywords=ps3+fight+stick Cheapest: http://www.amazon.com/Retro-SEGA-Saturn-Classic-Controller-Pc/dp/B002LHS70K/ref=sr_1_4?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1348193685&sr=1-4&keywords=sega+saturn+controllerhttp://mamedev.org/
