yeah, but mostly quicker cards are more expensive, the 8800GT 512Mb will only cost 512MB !!

The 8800gt (mid end) wont get pwned by the next series because its a new high end model, ex 8900gtx or 9800gtx whatever its called and will be more expensive ($600-700) but expect to have maybe 2 or 3 times the performance *speculation*.

The Q6600 compared to the Q9300 will have a small performance difference 4-7% so waiting so long may end end up not being worth the wait, unless you get something better like the Q9550. What will really pwn all the core family is the Nehalem.

Someone that games at lower resolution like 1280 1024 the 256mb is a very nice card for 199$.

250$ for the 512mb version? Thats about 180 euros... I just hope it stays below 200. Thats a really nice price... I'm getting this card for sure now. When will it be released for EU region? There is no info about these cards at all at www.alternate.nl where I buy my stuff at.

Still sucks to have to step up to a 8800GT, a CHEAPER card. It'd be ok if i recieved the difference, but obviously i wont.

Yeah I just realized that myself...why don't you just return it still and get an 8800GTX??? It will be somewhat of an upgrade at least :P. And you won't be left out while everyone else gets an 8800GT/GTS lol

The G80 cards are old now. Im not at all surprised Nvidia pulled this move. Its almost like the time the 7900gs came out. You got 7800gtx performance for half the price. O well I guess good things do happen to those who wait.tacobutt

The 8800GT looks cool, but I got so pwned by getting an 8800GTS! Hell, I've only been able to max out games for 7 months... and counting! :) Maybe I'll pick up a new GPU sometime after march next year.Staryoshi87

Allows you to trade in you GPU for its original Purchase price within 90days. I got a quick reply from EVGA and they said as long as my Step-up expired within a week of the 8800GTs' release that he would help me out. Awesome service by EVGA. Can't wait for some more GT reviews now.
