Let's say medical advancements went through the roof within the next 5 year, and you've received a virus that the only known cure for was to swap your gender around permanently and 100% genetically accurately. Would you be fine with that? Or would you prefer to leave yourself to the will of the virus?
I'd probably be fine with it. What ever guarntee's my health is what would matter most to me.

Anti-testosterone then?
[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]I'd only want to be a man for a short period of time just to see what it's like. I wouldn't want to make the switch permanent. I do actually like being a woman despite many of its frustrations. dkdk999What's some of the frustrations you find ? Most of it is social. I mean, having a period each month is definitely an irritant, but most of what frustrates me is tied to basic gender stereotypes/norms: what is expected of me, how people treat me, etc.

Thats a good start.
I'm offended.Yes. I mean, I'm comfortable with who I am now, but stereotypically I would fit more into the opposite sex.
Social enforced gender roles and stereotypes are a huge pain and so restrictive, they limit a person from enjoying the things they like, forcing them to only do what narrow minds demand of them and create a society that has no imagination and little individuality to it.Smokescreened84
Not really. You can do whatever you want, only a weak person lets constructs like that get to them on a personal level. If I was gay I wouldn't inform the world, but if someone asked I wouldn't lie simply because it's taboo in a certain culture.

i'm gonna have to agree to an extent. when i was with my first boyfriend, he was taken aback when we were out in public how much i'd not try to hide it (wasn't like in everyone's face about it either). He always tended to want to keep it hidden, even though he was very effeminate. My response is pretty simple, in the US you are legally protected and you have a degree of social allowance to be so in public, if you are not gonna be with who or what you want to be, then who else is going to do it? you always lose something when you go against the grain, but you also respect yourself and find new found respect among your real or new friends.bemoaning and dwelling on the fact that the world is constructed in a way you don't like, whether real or abstract, isn't gonna change anything or do anyone any good except make themselves miserable and bitter.
[QUOTE="Michael0134567"][QUOTE="ninjastar"]I'm offended. Does this apply to you? Apparently it does, since I'm a guy on here.Thats a good start.

I think the bronies are with you on that one.
Hell no... What a crappy scenario... If it were magic or being reborn then I'd have no problem...Let's say medical advancements went through the roof within the next 5 year, and you've received a virus that the only known cure for was to swap your gender around permanently and 100% genetically accurately. only if it came with the acquisition of a pretty body.
I think it is a lot easier to be an ugly dude than an ugly girl.
It's weird though. You hear alot about the woes of the unconfident men screwed over by society, but you never hear women complaining about how they can't get guys because of their lack of physical attractiveness. Or maybe they just don't complain on video game forums.only if it came with the acquisition of a pretty body.
