Why is it that satanism is hated upon by athiests and other religions?

I am a satanist. I for one follow the teachings of the dark prince himself and i even offer animal sacrifices every 6th day of june. But whenever i tell people i am a satanist, i get disgusted looks by people. Christians bash me, athiests bash me, muslims bash me and buddists laugh at me. Why is it that people insult my religion? Satanism should not be shunned upon. Its a beautiful religion. please tell me why?

I get the feeling this is a joke thread. I know someone who's a Satanist, and they don't actually sacrifice animals (no one really believes that, do they?). Hell, they don't even believe in Satan; he's more of a symbolic figurehead. JinjonatorX
