I love anime, but when I turn it off; I TURN IT OFF.

But every website I go one, when I see dudes with anime girls in their sig/avatar etc they usually make the most off the wall and cringy posts about any topic. Even my friends who collect anime posters(waifus) tend tobe out there, but it is worse online. They seem so unhinged and disjointed from reality.

That being said, I am not talking about any one on Gamespot, the guys with anime avatars here are super cool >.>

I find those with Star Wolf avatars pretty weird. I mean what's so cool about Star Wolf? He just shows up whenever he feels, says something like "Can't let you do that, Star Fox!" and is generally a prick.

Why are people with furry avatars so weird? Do they like to have sex with animals or something?

You have a picture of star wolf in your avatar.

That isn't much different.

There are some people that take anime a little bit too far. Like it doesn't end with posters or figurines. Thought the closest I ever got into anime was the old Lion Voltron cartoon and action figures back in the 90's. But it's the large breasted, nearly naked anime girls that resemble 10 yr old kids that creep me out.

I don't really like to judge or categorize people based on avatars.

I will say I have a buddy on the Internet (who I've talked to over the past 8 years or so) and he uses female anime character icons and things like that sometimes. He spends lots of money on collectible figurines and things like that, and stays really up-to-date on some animes as they air in Japan. He also has these long periods of time where he just won't stay in contact with me and kind of goes away, and then comes back for a day and says hi again before returning to the abyss.

But hey, I don't really know the guy in person, we've never met. He's generally been a pretty cool guy to know all of these years and usually when we talk online he seems to be a relatable, friendly guy. What he does with his money and time is his business, and besides I've spent and wasted so much money on stupid crap I really don't have an opinion on his interests. Sometimes I think people just read too much into the behavior of others', when they should get to know someone on a unique individual level rather than focusing on the negatives.

But then I must have Ron Swanson. I like Tom, that I got now. He is simply misunderstood. A kid who never got to use his potential. All he needed was a bit of guiding in his early days. =/

@Mercenary848: The real question is why does OP care to make vast generalizations about people he doesnt know.

Points to insecurity in yourself really, I mean its a harmless avatar and hardly judges the content of ones character/qualities.

@Dark_man123: I remember the first online community I ever really got into was the FUNiMation Central forums. I had just turned 13 and was able to sign up for an account, and quickly became invested in the community of the forums around that time.

They had tons of characters from across several different animes that you could use as your avatar, so it wasn't common to see multiple active members with the same icon, the exception being like Goku and Vegeta. Well, I remember I chose Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho as my avatar there, and I chose it because I felt like that was honestly one of the characters closest to me personality-wise.

Other people who visited the forums, I would kind of associate their personality with the icon they had. This one girl had an Android 17 icon and was obsessed with that character, and acted moody a lot. But we talked for a while and eventually the conversation came up about how she looked like Chi Chi (Goku's wife) and I said I thought Chi Chi was a pretty character, and she changed her icon to Chi Chi for a while out of appreciation of that, so that was kinda cool.

Another girl I knew there used Mai from the original Dragon Ball as her avatar... And she looked pretty much just like her, it was kind of uncanny.

It occurs to me that I don't remember the guys' icons as well as the chicks'.

It always raises an eyebrow when grown men have signatures or display pictures of characters that look like children - even worse when they parade them, or sexualize it.

Hey, I'm not the one generalizing an entire group of people based on the actions of a small sample size.
