@LJS9502_basic: What you mean?
Our current government doesn't diminish the country. Seems a lot of other countries are getting a bad impression of us.

People can't separate the United States of America from the America part. That's how I see it, at least.
My own countryfolk are guilty of this as much as anyone else, self-loathing is a big part of being a liberal these days lol :D And overcompensating with nationalism a big part of being a conservative :P
Lol, so everyone basically says the country they're from...
Anyway, it depends what you go on. Standard of living/quality of life? Usually the Scandinavian countries and others like Australia and New Zealand rank highly in that regard.
I've lived in the UK and New Zealand, and visited France, Italy, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Australia. They all have pros and cons, but I already know I want to spend my last days in New Zealand. Does that count?
I been living in the U.S my whole life since I was born and even then, I don't think it's the best in the world. In fact, everyone thinks the U.S is the most powerful country and even fear us but for me, I'm just a simple man, living a standard good life.
Gotta go with Canada myself. Still a lot of great nature to enjoy here and there's a pretty good balance weather wise with the four seasons.
Every country has its shitholes and armpits, including the US. But, I'm happy with my lot in life. I rather live at my old stomping grounds near Lake Tahoe in Nevada. But, the wife n kids like it here in southern Arizona. I wouldn't trade home for anywhere else and I've been to many places in my travels.
since I'm canadian, i'll go with canada. We're great for a bunch of objective reasons:
1) universal healthcare
2) socialist policies for important and vital services,
3)not nearly as many crazy right wing nut jobs
4) limits to our freedom of speech (expression). Fox News and CNN (especially fox) would be illegal forms of canadian press, because they'd violate propoganda/false news (yes we have something called FAKE NEWS embedded into our constitution), slander, sedition, treason, obscenity, hate propoganda etc.
5) a government that is forward looking and accepts science
6) 90% of all land is crown --which means PUBLIC LAND--also means a hell of a lot of national FREEDOM
7) progressive taxation...well actually no but at least more progressive than the US
8) Best of all though, were separated from the rest of the world by the atlantic to the east, pacific to the west, north pole to the north and the US to the south. Ironically our biggest security concern is the US border! We get plenty of so called refugees who cross from the US into Canada to try and become legal citizens and the numbers are rising after trump.
Costa Rica.
It's such a beautiful country. I plan on getting a citizenship there one day. I just hope weed is legalized there by then.
China. This is where the American dream has gone... providing you're a white male between the ages of 20 and 40.
Lol, so everyone basically says the country they're from...

It really depends on what you want. Top luxury life I bet US is the country to try your luck in. If you wish to have a more normal 8-4 work with a decent living, the Scandinavian countries do well. So do many other countries too.
USA, we got our problems(right wing loons, sissy leftists, government, toxic police) but we still are the best!

What is it with that demographic and going to china to bang underage boys?

Beirut is the capital of Lebanon. You could at least look it up first.
@GalvatronType_R:
I hope you're trolling. My geography enthusiast brain was screaming in my skull just now.

I get the impression that it is a bit more hit and miss with US. If you do well, you are better rewarded, if you do poorly, you are punished harder.
I'm pretty happy with the country I live in; The Netherlands.
Pretty much this, especially after leaving my country of origin. I have a pretty sweet life here, so I don't really care which is the "best" country; I'm good here :)

Other countries I'd name are:
I think one thing that makes it difficult for people moving to Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden is the rather locked in culture. Friendly, but making friends if you are an adult is difficult. We (Norway at least) keep us to ourselves very much. I've read similar stories from people living in Sweden as well. Friendly, but not very open.

Cant you be hired as an "office pet" if you're white male in that age in China? Or is that just a myth? :P

Isn't that kind of normal for every country where you don't master the language, if you would speak the native language fluently you would have no problem integrating.
and @TheFlush what's wrong with belgium man

Why wouldn't you?

Yeah, you can. They bring you out for conferences or meetings to make the company look more international.
Between Netherlands and Portugal :)
Portugal is a great place to visit and enjoy your vacation, but very hard to make a living there...

Speaking the language is extremely important but it won't make you a local, and in some places that's really all that matters.
As for Belgium, lots and lots of friendly people. They're like chill Dutch (now watch both Dutch and Belgians getting pissed off XD)

If you speak it fluently you will integrate easily, no matter where you from. The fact that your not considered local is because you don't speak the language, not properly anyway. Rural regions are more difficult since they have dialects, but those can be learned too.
It's everywhere the same, If I go to the usa now, I will be considered an immigrant even while I speak english quite well.
However if I live there for the rest of my life, I will start to master the language much better than now and people won't even know after a while I'm not from there originally.
Better yet, even if I don't master the language but stay there for the rest of my days people will consider me local as well, since they will know me as someone that's always around.
