Yeah, it's annoying how everyone acts like this has never happened before, and suddenly our society is going to turn to debauchery and madness, and we're all going to die because they're going to be running the world, and atheism is going to take over the world and no one will have faith in god, and Columbine is going to happen again, and blah blah blah etc etc.

Yeah, it get's old afterwhile, no one wants to hear it anymore. Teenage drinking and sex has been going on for a very long time, it's practically been imbued into our society. There's absolutely no reason to point it out every generation, it's not avoidable, and it's not going to stop so long as it's reflected in our society in the adult world.

Teenage rebellion is common phase. Up until this point, kids take everything that is told to them by a trusted source (a parent, most likely) as truth. The rebellion phase occurs with the realization that they actually have to make every decision for themselves.

I was pretty rebellious during my teenage years - but I wasn't stupid. I tried to balance things I saw as arbitrarily mandated by society with what was actually dangerous - e.g. I'd drink at a party, but only if I could ensure that some teetotaler was driving. :)

And for the record - during my first few semesters in college, some of the wildest people were the ones who hadn't cut loose at all during high school, usually because they'd been kept on a tight leash. Using moderation and good judgement are key.

there are a fair few teenagers who dont go out drinking or with girls... however I Am one of the teenagers who goes out... I drink a bit but have yet to get drunk. I havent had sex yet either...(im 15... 16 in a month)

same here, i drink a bit, it takes ALOT to have a big effect on me so i dont get drunk. i go out all the time, but its not like im raping drunk chicks or anything

People seem to think it is cool to drink when in reality it is not. Sure it is fun once and a while, I personally love to go out and get smashed on Friday nights sometimes, but it really is bad for your health to drink too much, and trust me, being a college kid, you wind up drinking a lot. I would drink at least a 12 pack every week in college as a stress reliever because things were so busy all the time and it makes me more relaxed to have a drink or two. Now thatI am out of college though I only drink about twice a month depending on what I am doing. At parties I will drink though regardless but not too many have popped up this summer.

I think we need to figure out how old everyone is here. I say what I say, BUT I'm 19. It's not like i'm 14.RR88

I know what you mean. Everyone was complaining about getting kicked out at our school's dance yesterday when they were warned it was against the rules DURING school. I guess they didn't think they would be enforced and decided to waste their time by going, anyways.

Okay, but I think beer tastes bad, so I see no real reason to drink. Plus, you can kicked off sports' teams for doing that.

That is true, but it's still nice to look out for your peers and help them not to make bad choices. Oh, and it is against the law to drink under-age, anyways... But I am not a cop, so I guess it's none of my buisness.

Also, even if you don't drink at a party, if there is beer at the party, and you are aware of it, then you are screwed. No more football, basketball, baseball, or some othersport for you.

Beer isn't supposed to taste good at first, it's an acquired taste, just like most alcohol. I came to like it from hunting with my dad. We'd drink beer together on the deer lease whilst waiting for something to come.
