iTunes. I got a Hexacore, 8gb ddr3 I can afford to 'waste resources'.
I just like the layout, and I have an itouch.
*I just checked. My CPU usage goes up 2% and my ram goes up by 1% how is that unoptimized?
Wouldn't flac or .ape be a higher quality audio format?Itunes > apple lossless :) and windows media or wm classic on samples.

flac and alac are the same, just that the former works with everything else and the latter only works on apple stuff, apple logic. The files retain the same bloated size which Im having trouble managing on the phone, sad. Wav is even higher which I believe is uncompress but in terms in sq that doesnt make difference at all compare to compressed lossless.

Main issue here as well, can't load-up a cell phone with window's loseless file format(Name escapes me at this moment).I am still of the mindset from some years back that iTunes was a massive resource hog that did nothing but waste time. It has always worked well for me and I am still tethered to my iPod classic as Apple is the only one still making HDD mp3 players (hell, they are the only ones making quality mp3 players at all!).

I sometimes question myself if Im an idiot if I stick around for the next iproduct when an android can play flac without the tedious chore of converting. My biggest jab is the lack of sd slot grr.

Ha, I hate that crap too. I have a few m4a. files laying in my music collection and it's annoying not all Android(manufacturer) support(tags) that file.Pretty much this. ITunes is a piece of ****.On Windows: foobar2000 --So fast!
On KDE: Amarok --Godly Interface!
On GNOME, I use Audacious, which is like foobar2000.

That's now true at all COWON J3,Sansa Clip+, and Zune are all quality mp3 players.I am still of the mindset from some years back that iTunes was a massive resource hog that did nothing but waste time. Are there people here talking about music players being fast? I didn't know fastness was an issue with music players in the last ten years. You just click on the song and it plays. I guess Palantas is not an audiophile.
I just use iTunes. I don't need some special hipster program.

I have a Zune Pass, and use Zune for the same reason.
iTunes because it's easy to sort my music the way I want it, find music easily and because I have an iPod.
That being said, I have been using Winamp occasionally because it's not such a resource hog, but I cannot be bothered updating both media players whenever I get a new album, so I just stick to iTunes.
on my windows desktop i use windows media player. very lightwight program with a wonderful UI. especially with Win7.
on my macbook i use iTunes. iTunes is lame as hell on windows, but runs fantastically on my mac for obvious reasons. i like the UI for it a lot too.
[QUOTE="PEELEDbanana"]That's now true at all COWON J3,Sansa Clip+, and Zune are all quality mp3 players. Those are all flash storage (which still is too low as I like to have all my music with me), and I had a zune for awhile, but it had a defective battery. That is besides the point, they don't make Zunes anymore (to my knowledge).I am still of the mindset from some years back that iTunes was a massive resource hog that did nothing but waste time.
