I honestly cannot remember the last great movie I saw. It must be after Taken 1, but that is the last one I remember seeing and loving. I feel like so many Movies suck lately, and most of my watching enjoyment comes from Shotime.

I saw Drive last summer. Seriously, that thing is at least as good as Casino. It will definetly be remembered 20 years from now.
In theaters? Skyfall.
At home? No Country for Old men. That movie absolutely kicks arse. Now I need to see There will be Blood

Ahhh, No Country for Old Men is great. There Will Be Blood is great too, but pretty different, not for everyone.
As far as truly great movies I've seen in the past months for the first time...I watched City of God sometime back in the spring, and that film is without a doubt one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. Saw Drive over the summer and it was pretty good too, and in theatres I saw Argo which was downright tremendous. Those are three truly great movies that I can think of seeing for the first time this year. There are likely a couple others too.
The Thing. Saw it a few days ago. It has better special effects than most movies todays and was released in 1982.
So is Skyfall better than Quantum of Solace? I loved Casion Royale, but QoS was pretty boring in my opinion.

Wow so much love for Skyfall, I am amazed as I thought it was really poor. Maybe I just dont have rose tinted glasses when I watch James Bond films :P. I did watch a really good film but I cant for the life of me remember it, aside from Avengers still being my film of the year by a mile I would have to say this French film (didnt know it was french until too late), its about a guy who has a hard time finding employment and ends up being a carer for this rich guy, really good film with great humour and does make you go "awwwhhh" :P.

BossPerson
it's actually much better than Casino
but Casino isn't very good
War Horse... I thought it looked stupid, but watching it kind of choked me up, and alot of the scenes are done in really good taste.
