World Sporting Capital
And also i live here :P

*cynical ex-pat response*
Liveable by some arbitary measurements (used to be most liveable - when it was cheap and transport wasn't so sh!t)
World sporting capital... well it is a fantastic sporting city, although not sure if you could say it's the world sporting capital as most sports are aussie
...I just wish it wasn't just miles from the rest of world. That's a big :( for me anyway
Boston, I love that place, so much history to that place and it just has personality.metroidprime55
+1
Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada).
Vancouver is a beautiful city with great mountain scenery. Forests and snowy mountains surround the city and it's definitely one of the places I'd want to live in if I had the chance.
i love vancouver spent 3 months over there loved it so much and i also want to visit america.

Chicago, Detroit, and Grand Rapids are really the only cities I've ever been to, and Chicago was by far the best. Amazing city, would like to vacation there again.
I haven't travelled enough to have a valid opinion on the topic.JML897I'm guessing that's also the case for 99% of OTIndeed, So I'm gonna back Baghdad.

I found the local - great place :)
Well it used to be as no one can afford to drink there anymore :(
I can really...... But actually funnily enough, I took the folks down there this time last year. 2 pints. a lemonade for the mother + a cheese platter was the equivalent of 37 pounds. My dad couldn't believe it. 37 quid! It may be liveable, but it aint very visitable :P
Blimey...
Anyway - I was only playing a wee devils advocate - a little cynisism borne out of visiting all of those Melbourne bars with their uniform bohemiam uniqueness. The next time someone opens up a bar down chapel and think it would be cool to have a stuffed animal, a couple of bikes knocking around and some old paddels on the wall and thinks it's 'unique' I'll be offering some interior dec advice for free.

Probably Dubai if you think about it. It some very modern and impressive architecture. I've been to New York City several times and I can honestly say that it's not very impressive. There's really not much culture that's unique to NYC that you won't find in any other city.Reed_Bowie
Ah yes, a city of lost expats, ridiculous wealth and some pretty decent south eastern prostitutes. It may be the greatest for earning cash and living in odd communities full of ex-pat a$$holes I guess

Aaaah you make some fine points, old chap. Â It certainly isn't so cheap anymore, and that must have been a bit of a fright for the folks lol. I also couldn't agree more about the "unique" decor. Â If it's like that everywhere, it ain't unique!!!
I haven't traveled enough to to really have a good idea. Â I really like D.C. alot though, despite the fact that many in this topic don't seem to give it much thought or praise. Â
Seeing the names of all these great cities excites me though. Â I'd rather have a bunch of great cities to go and see than just one or two that are unanimously considered the best, and then after you've seen them there's nothing else left really.
They don't call San Diego "America's Finest City" for nothing and since America is the greatest by default San Diego is the greatest of the greatest so therefore the greatest in the world.

America is the greatest because reasons. Reasons such as natural resources, every climate available, might, and demand. However, NYC is better than San Diego unless you surf.

Palm tree island? Looks like from a plane but there's nothing special on it. 7 star hotel? Since when was 7 stars necessary? I'll just join the other rich people there sliding on their feet while getting dragged by their supercars for fun.

Â
I think I will go with Singapore.
Dat View
Currently live in New York City, it deserves its reputation for being "World City."
Been to Los Angeles a few times, personally it is my favorite and would like to move there sometime.
Mecca, for it's freedom.
Crunchy_Nuts
It has the second tallest building in the world andd one of the most important religious places in the world. That should count for something.

Too bad I'm not exactly a fan of the religion and the tower look hideous. Yes, I've seen it in person. Please Log In to post.
