What happened to OT??

To me it seems like OT has lost it and isnt even half as fun as it used to be. I dont see much reason to post, or even view others posts anymore. Alot of the topics are just being recylced and are completely not interesting. Lots of my favorite posters have abandoned or have been banned:cry:. WHat do you guys think?

I think people should stop complaining.

The death of it will come from all the lame and obnoxious "boo-hoo, it isn't like what it used to be" threads.

OT lost its glory days, but it still going strong at times. I still have fun being here.

What makes me chuckle is that since I was a wee level 1 people were complaining about how OT has dropped in quality and how we should revert back to the good old days, but most of the people who do this now weren't even around for the glory days that I missed.

What's the secret? OT is based on personal interest, and once you've seen the same arguments over the same things, eventually your interest wains, because there are only so many times you can see the same thing and be amused.

Take a break. I did, and now I'm marginally more interested in this place.

I've actually been thinking that part of the reason the place has been a touch slow now and then is that new "Real OT" union that a number of the more prominent users decided to start. It kind of splits the really great posters in two between folks who spend most of their time here and those who spend a lot of time over there. Just a random thought though, really haven't thought it through all the way.nocoolnamejim

It has gotten a bit stale......

When was OT a place where threads DIDN'T get recycled? When was OT a place with a majority of interesting threads? I haven't been around much during the last term >.> so I don't have a good feel of how OT is right now... but I do know that threads like these have always been here... at least I'm positive they've been here for the last 3 years. I think OT gets a little bit better during the summer when everybody are done with their last exams, so have some hope (I still have one more home project/exam to turn in this week :oops: ... then I'm free). But if you want a premonition of mine, this summer could be the best in OT ever... but there will most definitely still be people complaining about the lack of new interesting threads and people getting banned.Hungry_bunny

Nothing has changed it is just being slow cause alot of questions have been asked all ready.

It gets in the way at times, especially when practicing pirouettes.

I'd say it's gotten fairly boring in the past few months. Dunno why, I'm sure it has nothing to do with tons of great users being ****ing banned. :| It would be aweomse to not have to search for good topics.

I haven't been posting in OT for very long, so I can't really say, but from lurking threads made in past months/years, I can't see much of a difference. I occasionally make a few threads that are different, but I don't see a point because most of the time they get overshadowed by the repetitive ones.

For anybody blaming the mods, try having an argument with someone in SW. The mods there are WAY more strict than the ones here.

Besides I think that the threads about users in general, was a reaction (unconscious methinks) to lighten up the mood from a) serious political/religious threads and b) threads like this one.

I've been here long enough to know that it's the weather. People are out a lot. Summer is going to be very, very slow.

With that said, OT has still lost a lot of its edge. So there's that as well. It gets worse and worse and people will always feel bummed that it's not the way it used to be. Frankly speaking, I'm one of those people. Until I hear of some incredible resurrection, OT is dead to me. :(
