I'm sure that many of you have heard of the Starchild Skull. To summarize for those that have not, or have inaccurate information- It is a very strange "humanoid" skull found in Mexico some time ago. It is believed to be about 900 years old. There has been massive debate about whether or not it's human. There was early DNA testing done in 1999 that indicated that it was human. Since then, more advanced DNA testing methods have pretty clearly indicated that it's not even close to human. Whether or not it's extraterrestrial is still up for debate, but it's characteristics certainly fit in with your typical alien "grey." Anyhow, here's a very recent video regarding the skull, it's history, and facts about it's genome that should make many skeptics think twice. If you want more info on the subject, the youtube channel attached to the video I'm linking contains quite a bit. More can be found on the interwebs. Enjoy.

It's good to see that we have so many open-minded, independent-thinking individuals in OT. Of course this is one of the worst places to find people who are open to having their world view changed. I post things for the few who will at least look at the information and not shut down immediately because they are uncomfortable with the way the subject matter impacts their otherwise meaningless existences.

He didn't need to extrapolate to make his point. I agree that it was unnecessary. There are already enough established genetic differences to make clear that it's not human.

No. I don't think you understand much about DNA and mDNA and that's why he's able to sound like he knows what he's talking about to people like you. He's making a point based on fragmented DNA (4 fragments...wow).

You couldn't convict a murderer based on 4 fragments of DNA.

That was just one of the many peculiarities he mentioned in regards to its DNA, what do you have to say about the rest? I think it's all pretty fascinating, and I think it's great people are out there who are actually putting in the effort to study this skull instead of jumping to the conclusion that it must be human. With that being said, at this stage I still just think it's a deformed human. Surely if it was a completely separate species from human we would have found many other remains similar to this, and there's not nearly enough evidence to point to it being extra terrestrial. I'll keep an open mind though.

OK. Here's why it's not alien. It's DNA. Assuming life originally formed on Earth naturally, it links every single living thing together. We all have a relationship with the trees, the bacteria, everything, because we all evolved from the original piece of DNA that started to copy itself. If it's alien, it's not only unlikely that it would look anything like a human, but also unlikely that it would even be composed of DNA. It was probably just a demented human from a few hundred years ago.

Well the DNA tests still say it's a human so it's kind of irrelevant to address it any further than that. Also chances are it's a kid who had hydrocephalus.

If we ever develop FTL drives, we should find the nearest civilized planet, make stone blocks, land in their crop fields, and never return again.

You post things to flaunt your supposed open-mindedness to the people who, as you claim, you already know are close-minded, while in reality all you really need is a more sexually fullfilling life or if that's not doable (giggle), a good fap session.

Perhaps you and SaintWalrus can organise a circlejerk. A literal one btw.

Except for the fact that it has variations in it's foxp2 gene. You don't see that in humans, even those with major issues. In many ways the DNA is more similar to multiple other creatures on this planet that it is to a human. You speak in conjecture.. with the assumption that DNA as we know it is only found on Earth. Where is the proof of that? I find it more likely that it's all over the galaxy, if not the whole cosmos. The basic building blocks of advanced life.

I don't think you paid much attention to the video lesson. He addresses that and many other "explanations" that clearly don't work for this skull. Not to mention the thing's DNA, which is in many ways more similar to a fruit fly than a human.

Question; when did "open minded" become a dirty word?

It used to be code for "be tolerant of gays as*hole" but not I see every conspiracy nut using the termas an excuse to not put thought into an issue.

If you did your research and see that it's the skull of natives who deformed their heads purposely and that testing showed it to be human, you're closed minded.

If you take an agnostic stance on whether something we see in the sky is an alien, rather than assume, you're closed minded.

If youbelieve in the Holocaust, you're close minded.

When did this happen?

In many ways the DNA is more similar to multiple other creatures on this planet that it is to a human. You speak in conjecture.. with the assumption that DNA as we know it is only found on Earth. Where is the proof of that? I find it more likely that it's all over the galaxy, if not the whole cosmos. The basic building blocks of advanced life.

holy assume based on nothing batman.

What if it's just a human, but that human had a huuuge deformity due to some crazy chromosome/dna changes or something. It would explain why we've only ever seen one of these.

You paid literally no attention to the video.

I paid attention to the video. Then I went looking for the actual results of the 2003 DNA test. They came back 100% conclusive that it was a human. At which point I stopped watching the video because it was throwing falsities out as facts.
