I'd like to think we've all been there. You're out for a day or night on the town and you hear "that song"... dancing among the lights, sounds, and laughter a ton of bricks! You're whisped away to memories of an ex, a friend, a time, or a place that just has a life of it's own...

What's that song for you? I just wonder. For me, the feels are strong with this one.

Black Mirror San Junipero theme makes me feel nostalgic for the 80's and 90's I miss that time so much I hate modern day with a passion wish I could go back in time more then anything.

I am the Highway - Audioslave

Wasted Years - Cold

Hurt - Johnny Cash

Found out this pretty sweet dubstep remix stopped someone from killing themself. Had me sobbing last time i listened and couldnt even finish it, which surprised me as i havent been like that since Times Like These after I was fired lol. "When i dream of dying... I never felt so loved! Ive been having dreams..."

Barber - Adagio for Strings...double-sad if listened to in the context of Homeworld; they choir it up and you're essentially watching your home planet and most of your people burn while they attack the survivors in orbit. First time I've cried playing a video game *sniffle*

Soul Asylum - Runaway Train...not really too sad if you just listen to the song, but with the video, idunno, it's really sad.

Bill Broonzy - Black, Brown, and White...it's sort of a satire but, as they say, the truth hurts. Whenever I think of how prevalent--and legal!--discrimination was in this country (US), it really does make me sad.

JB Lenoir - Alabama Blues...different context today, but same state, same blues. Lenoir's voice is full-on blues here, just sad.

Michael Andrews - Mad World...just spooky sad. I mean if you want a song that displays the pointlessness of life, this is it.

The National - Mistaken for Strangers...I mean any The National song would do, the guy's voice is so sad.

Interpol - Rest my Chemistry...song about being tired and drugged out. I mean what's sadder, physically, than being tired? Not much. Also the whiny guitars and sad vocals just make

Oh, and of course, Andrew Jackson Jihad songs. These songs are my personal anthem:

  • Self Esteem
  • Evil
  • A Song Dedicated to Stormy the Rabbit

Townes van Zandt - Waiting Around to Die

Old Crow Medicine Show - Methamphetamine

Oh man, great selection. TBH I've been avoiding Alice in Chains post-Staley, but it's actually a good group.

Alice in Chains never made me cry but it always tends to put me into a sad mood, but a good sad. The kind of sad I need to be in to get out of my more legitimate sad.

I think a lot of those 90's and grunge artist just put me in a depressed mood in general.

Yeah, those 90s grunge groups could make you feel depressed. There hasn't been a song that made me cry but Alice in Chains are the closest to it. Dark songs sung by people who are clearly hurting. You can feel it.

Their newer stuff is pretty good. I've been a fan of them with Staley when I was a younger and I enjoyed Black Gives Way to Blue immediately. It took me awhile to get into The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here but I really dig that album now. I don't care much for Rainier Fog at the moment but I need to listen to more of their songs when I'm in the mood.

All I could think of right now is The Great Gig in the Sky by Pink Floyd. The feels, man.
