I would say at least 50% of caucasians in America have some Irish in them. Take that into account, and nobody except cave dwellers don't know someone Irish. I'm 12.5% by the way.

I know, why does everyone want to be Irish, it isn't really that great at all. I come from a rainy country with polution everywhere, isn't that great!!! :roll: Its too expensive to live here and I have every intention to move to England or Scotland

I'd move somewhere warmer if I could take the heat. But I can't :( I would love to go to Portugal, but I have a sister in London and a sister in Glasgow, who I miss like hell.
I'm 1/8th Irish and I cherish that heritage much more than my other ones(I'm Irish, French, Dutch, British, Scotish, and Native American). I do however value my Native American heritage as well.
My surname is Irish..... My dad's family used to live there until about 80-90 years ago. I still consider myself to have some Irish blood, somewhere.
And this was confirmed by the fact that once, a guy who had never met me before, and knew nothing about me except my first name (not even my Irish surname) managed to pick out the exact part of Ireland where my family used to live. It was kinda weird, but it made me happy ^_^

I'm Scottish and Scottish people descend from the Irish so i technically fall into that category. Though i just say Scottish, Spanish and Italian since they are the main influences rather than years and years of descending away from the Irish.
If this counts, I'm a little Irish, but mixed in with American and European descent. No, I haven't seen any lepracauns. Yes, you should not have made a pretty useless topic.
I actually know quite a bit about my Irish roots. My family came from a Germanic(German) tribe called the Normann's that traveled to Ireland and assimilated into the Irish culture. My mother's maiden name is Fitzgerald, and her mother's maiden name was Scott, so I'm 1/4 Irish/ Normann, 1/4 Scottish, and my Dad's English
