Poll Should President-Elect Trump make good on his promise to prosecute Hillary Clinton? (83 votes)

Yes. Prosecuting Hillary is an essential part of draining the swamp. 39%
No. He should rather forget Hillary and concentrate on his presidential duties. 61%

Donald Trump infamously stated that he would want his attorney general to prosecute Hillary Clinton for her abuse of a private e-mail server. Should he do it?

It would serve little purpose now. He should focus on reconciliation and defusing the ill-feeling that has attended the campaigning.

Whatever investigation is going (if there's any of them still running; eg. Clinton Foundation?) should continue, if anything is found appropriate action should be taken including prosecution if necessary. If there is no basis to prosecute, no prosecution should occur. That's how things should be.

Trump should worry about his upcoming duties instead of trying to go after Clinton. Even if they have more evidence that could lead to a prosecution, it would be a waste of time now in my opinion.

Hillary already has enough hate coming her way now, since her and the DNC pushed aside Bernie Sanders, who would have probably defeated Trump.

Just like 80% of the things Trump said during the campaign, he said it just to garner votes and has no intention of actually following up on his words. There won't be a 30' wall along the Mexico border, he won't (can't) revoke our trade agreements, he won't (can't) deport people. Trump is a lot of bluster and very little bite.

No, we need less divisiveness. Also there's really nothing to prosecute her for.

Honestly a good question. Right now though, he focused his smaller staff on the campaign and not transition team. So they have a lot of scrambling to do in the coming months. And first 100 days.

Clinton's polticial career is likely over after this embarrassing loss. Unless she wants to be a senator again. And the victory speech Trump had, kinda suggests he looks to go easy on her.

It's not complex. If an allegation has been made and it is credible it should be investigated. If guilt is found it should be punished.

Uh...of course? I'm not saying he should just lock her up. But what he should do is appoint non-partisan people to investigate the FBI, the emails, and investigate the in-the-open ties between the Clintons and those overseeing their investigations. Failing to do that would really be failing to uphold his promise, and make it seem like he was just "mad" instead of having any legitimate legal qualms with her. Just because he "won" doesn't undue the fact that she's potentially a criminal who deserves punishment.

No offense intended to you but people on the opposite side got so many things wrong about this election. If I had the time I'd go back and look at all of the members who said he was going to lose and lose badly, how he was going to lose PA and other battle ground states, etc.., Right about now all bets are off.

He should have. But I think far too many people hate the government and think he's an outsider. He's not. But buyer beware. I look forward to the fall out. I think it'll be one and done actually.

Especially in this political climate. Even if he got legit non partisan people, the poison the well mentality would swoop in. If he choose left leaning people, he's playing with Hilary. If he appointed right leaning people, he's stacking the deck in a crony fashion. Remember, all it takes in this political climate to be a neo con fascist or a lefty communist is to have a single opinion outside of either party line.

Just because we can't find a perfectly unbiased person, we can't do the case any justice?

What's insane to me is that it never occurred you or the public that maybe the person overlooking Clinton's investigation should at least be someone who hasn't given or received money from the Clintons.

That's not asking for a lot. Maybe just some common sense? But I guess for some people out there, it is much to ask for...

Speaker of dictators. Do you know what kind of people get choose their friends as the prosecutors? Fascists. You people sure love facism and it's honestly kinda gross.

Do you not believe in people being judged for their actions? Have you no faith in your legal system? She has committed a felony that would have landed you in a black site to rot for the rest of your life. Why does it not insult you that she is getting away scot free? Have you no personal pride?

Of for f**** sake. You don't even understand the legal system. No one has committed any felony until they are convicted. Innocent until proven guilty. Learn before you speak.

If this is the game we're playing, maybe while Obama is still POTUS, he should 'investigate' Trump.

Even his most naive supporters would be surprised if Trump's business dealings were found to be totally above board and squeaky clean. He's always been all about doing whatever it takes for Trump to win. It's as plain as day. He only has ethics and values when it's convenient. His only moral code is 'does it benefit Trump?' He's a shady character. They may harbor a sneaking admiration his braggadocio and his brazenness, but everyone knows he's dodgy as ****. His whole business model has been about suckering shlubs to buy into his gold-plated garbage. He's having a good laugh about how you all fell for it.

But before anyone prosecutes either of them, can someone please tell me why no one from the Bush administration was ever held to account for anything? The Iraq War is not ancient history. We're still trying to clean up the fallout from that mess. It dwarfs any and every manufactured Clinton or Obama scandal. How people can work themselves into an enraged frenzy over non-issues like email servers and birth certificates is beyond comprehension. It's like people have no sense of proportion whatsoever.

You are telling me that the mountains of evidence thrown out to the public against her amounts to nothing ? The federal bureau of investigation has admitted that what she has done constitutes a felony and that, if it were you and me, we would be permanent resident at Guantanamo.

Considering everything you know, so far, don't you think that the fact that she has yet to be convicted or at the very least judged should have a huge weight on your voting decision?

I'll ask you the same question : Have you no personal pride?
