Should I buy the PS4 slim instead of the Xbox One S since it doesn't have a eye damaging red laser shining out of the optical port since the PS4 slim doesn't have that port?

You should buy the console that poses the least risk to your health. The content and performances of the two platforms is 90% the same anyway.
